Loading speed is now two separate mods, with values you can type in
Requested in #5. Previously one "Loading mode" dropdown mixed two different
things together, so you could have host pacing or CD timing but never
choose them independently — and CD timing only offered 2x and 4x.
Tomba Fast Loading (host pacing) — speeds up wall-clock pacing during a
load. Every guest frame, CD interrupt and callback still happens on schedule,
so it cannot desync the game. It does speed the game up while a load is
detected, which some routes rely on not happening.
- Host speed multiplier: type any value (1 = authentic, 2–32 useful)
- Uncapped: tick to run as fast as your machine allows
Tomba CD Speed — makes the emulated drive deliver data sooner. Loads get
shorter while the game keeps running at normal speed, so nothing moves faster
than it should. This is the one to use if the host speed-up gets in your way.
- CD speed multiplier: type any value (1 = authentic 1x, 2–32 useful, higher accepted)
- Instant: tick for the bounded instant scheduler; this greys out the multiplier
- Instant sectors per frame: how many sectors instant may deliver per frame
Both mods are off by default and can be enabled independently or together.
The multipliers are free integers rather than a fixed list, so you can find the
highest speed this game actually tolerates — if a load stalls, you have gone
past it. FMV and CD audio always keep authentic timing, so movies and music are
never sped up or pitch-shifted.

- Linux AppImage now ships the prebuilt overlay cache, so first-run performance
matches Windows. Both packagers now refuse to build a cache-less package. - Framework: loading-speed limits raised (CD was capped to 2x/4x, host pacing to
16x); newdisabled_byoption link so a tickbox can grey out a related field.
Includes the MIT-licensed OpenBIOS from PCSX-Redux and its notice. Does not
include the Tomba! disc, a retail PlayStation BIOS, or save data.
