⚠️ Pro customers — one action after upgrading

Because the plugin folder/slug changed (elementor-mcp → emcp-tools), the new install is a separate plugin to WordPress, so your Pro license does not carry over automatically. After you delete the old plugin and activate EMCP Tools, you will likely need to re-activate your license and complete the Freemius opt-in/connection again. Your license stays valid — this just re-links it to the renamed plugin. Free users have nothing extra to do.

What changed

• Renamed elementor-mcp → emcp-tools as the product grows beyond Elementor: the plugin folder, main file, text domain, and all internal PHP identifiers were rebranded. In the Plugins list it now shows as "EMCP Tools" (the old one stays "MCP Tools for Elementor", so it's clear which to remove).
• Your AI clients keep working unchanged — the MCP tool names and server (elementor-mcp/..., elementor-mcp-server) are intentionally left the same, so no connection config or skill needs editing.
• Automatic, safe migration. If the old elementor-mcp plugin is still active, EMCP Tools pauses and shows a notice to deactivate and delete it; your settings (disabled tools, Low-tools mode, server toggle) and banner dismissals are carried over to the new keys — captured before the old plugin's uninstall can wipe them.

How to upgrade

1. Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin → upload emcp-tools-2.0.0.zip below → Install → Activate. It will show a notice that the old plugin is still active.
2. Deactivate + Delete the old "MCP Tools for Elementor" (v1.9.x, folder elementor-mcp).
3. EMCP Tools now boots fully with your settings carried over. Pro users: re-activate your license / complete opt-in if prompted.

All PHP symbols are uniquely re-prefixed, so the two can sit side by side during the switch without fatal errors.
