• Remote-proxy documentation. The Node.js proxy is launched by your AI client as a local subprocess, so for remote/shared-hosting sites its path must point to the client machine — not to bin/mcp-proxy.mjs inside wp-content/plugins/... on the server. The Connection tab, README, and mcp-config-examples.json now make this explicit. Thanks to the user who reported the misread.

New

• npx runner for remote connections — @msrbuilds/emcp-proxy (zero-dependency, published from bin/). Config becomes "command": "npx", "args": ["-y", "@msrbuilds/emcp-proxy@latest"], so there's no local proxy copy to extract or keep in sync. The local-file method remains documented as the alternative.

Changed

• Documented MCP_PROTOCOL_VERSION=2024-11-05 in the connection docs — it makes the proxy rewrite the adapter's 2025-06-18 handshake for clients (e.g. some Claude Desktop builds) that reject it.
