#noteSteamLaunchers
Desktop Version 🖥
- Added some extra cleaning code at the top of the script
- Fixed GOG Galaxy Launcher: now you should be able to uninstall and re-install it so that it works now with the latest Proton GE and UMU thanks @Ryonez for the suggestion!
- Fixed many more battle.net scanner errors
- Added PURPLE Launcher: Installs fine but none of the games seem to work due to Easy Anti-Cheat.
- Added Plarium Play: Seems to play fine but requires manual installation for now.
- Changed the
NSLGameScanner
button and code to accept a 🔍. - Added a new button called 🖥️ Off: This button will simply turn off your screen so you can download large games without looking! How cool! It will probably save battery!
- Added another button called
NSLGameSaves
: This will use Ludusavi to inject back your game saves from home/deck/NSLGameSaves back into your launchers and games. This feature is meant to be used with the NonSteamLaunchers' unique prefix. Pressing this button will simply execute it. This is intended for use if you wiped your system and hit Start Fresh or deleted everything. This has always been a feature since last year but i never made a button for it for the desktop version.
And finally, one more new button: the ❤️ button....... hold on to your notes!
NonSteamLaunchers is changing its name to #NoteSteamLaunchers..... jk. But yes, I present to you the main event of this version update. A very unique way to make notes come alive. Starting today, anyone who uses NSL can participate in something called "NSL Community Notes". This special notes feature will allow you to share notes with each other! A couple of rules:
- In order to participate, you need to make a note and type
#nsl
, leave a space, and then type your actual note. - Once complete, close the note and open up NSL. Press the ❤️ button! This will send your note through the NSL API and simply spit it back out to you and for everyone who uses NSL and that specific game. Steam must restart in order for you to see each others special #nsl note. Once steam has restarted feal free to delete your "original #nsl note" as the note will now be in the Community Notes Section for that specific game! That's right, this is all based on Steam's work on notes, except now we can share them with each other for non-Steam games through a simple hashtag. I have many more tagging ideas including not just having a community note but your own full fledged note that we can all see through NSL.
- You must share a note for that particular game if you want to see others as well! thats pretty much it haha
But that's not all!
Currently, if you press the ❤️ button, you'll also get another note called Proton GE & UMU. This note gives you information based on the UMU database for the game you're playing if its in there. This is meant for so people can know more about the UMU Proton fixes. More of this will be added in the near future, like a Descriptions Note.
And Just for even more teasing, I'm working on ways to provide even more information based on each game through notes, including ProtonDB and HLTB and possibly other news sources. This includes another note tab for "NSL Patch Notes". This would be very helpful not just for gamers but for me as a developer, as it would give everyone the ability to have important information about their non-Steam games right in front of them, especially in game mode. If a game all of a sudden broke or the launcher didnt work with any new updates it had, we can all contribute to the note for that specific Non steam shortcut.
And finally, notes also arent just for information, but for anything that would come to mind about the game, whether a guide on how to beat a certain part or cheats, or jotting down a memorable moment about what just happened as you were playing. I hope this new unique feature will help you in some way big or small and make your notes come alive while you game. I look forward to seeing your special #nsl note in the games we play!
