C++ MediCat Installer (preview)

Highly experimental native Win32 build from the cpp branch. This release contains only MedicatInstaller.exe — no batch or PowerShell wrapper.

What it does

• Ventoy — download, extract, fresh install or non-destructive upgrade
• Format — optional NTFS format before extraction
• Extract — MediCat.USB.v21.12.7z via bundled 7-Zip with live file log
• Verify — post-install or standalone MD5 check against embedded MedicatFiles.md5
• Downloads — inline mirror downloads with resume, progress, and speed when the archive is missing
• i18n — English, Spanish, French, Polish, Turkish, and Cat

Quick start

1. Download MedicatInstaller.exe below.
2. Place MediCat.USB.v21.12.7z in the same folder as the installer.
3. Run as Administrator.
4. Select a USB drive (≥ 30 GiB; C: is hidden).
5. Install or use Check USB Files to verify an existing stick.

Requirements

• Windows 10/11 x64
• Administrator elevation (UAC)
• Internet for Ventoy download (first run) and optional archive mirrors
• USB drive with ≥ 30 GiB capacity
• MediCat.USB.v21.12.7z beside the installer (~24 GB+ uncompressed)

Notes

• This is a prerelease — expect bugs; test on a spare drive first.
• Stable batch installer releases remain on tag 3520 and earlier.
• Logs (medicat_installer.log, debug.log on errors) are written beside the exe.
