Gander opens Word 97-2003, OpenDocument and Rich Text documents, zip archives and 3D models, and script inside a document can no longer run.

New formats
- .doc, .odt and .rtf open with their formatting, tables, pictures and footnotes, read by code written for Gander. Thanks @celsoazevedo for #13, and everyone who asked for .odt after #4.
- .zip opens like a folder, and each file in it opens in its own viewer, read straight out of the archive. Nothing is unzipped to the phone. Thanks @DEWE-ex for #30.
- .stl opens as a 3D model you can turn, zoom and flick, with its size in millimetres (#36).
- Office's macro-enabled files, templates and slide shows open in their family's viewer. Macros never run.
Security
- Every viewer page runs under a Content Security Policy that allows only Gander's own code. A Word file could embed a web page whose script ran as the document opened. It could send nothing anywhere, since Gander has no internet permission, but it ran.
- Anything a page asks for that Gander does not serve is refused inside the app, so the missing internet permission is no longer the only wall.
- Another app can no longer have Gander open Gander's own files, such as its list of recent files.
Reading
- A PDF reopens at the page you left it on. Thanks @Rochey for #25.
- Videos fill the screen, and a wide one gets a full screen button (#33).
- A .json file opens laid out, one field to a line. Thanks @Chris-z-su for #32.
- On a WebView too old for a file, Gander says so instead of showing an error. Thanks @XZY123lol for #31.
- The icon takes part in themed icons on Android 13 and later. Thanks @IsakTheHacker for #35.
Everything else is in the changelog.
Install
Gander-2.0.apk runs on every phone. The app ships no native libraries, so there is no architecture to choose.
Viewing PDFs needs Android System WebView 125 or newer (May 2024), Word documents 80 and Markdown files 92. Any phone still receiving WebView updates is well past all three.
Verify before installing if you like. Signing certificate SHA-256:
