PDFs with JPEG 2000 images, and black and white scans, now show what is in them instead of arriving blank.
JPEG 2000 images and scanned pages
pdf.js decodes JPEG 2000, JBIG2 and CCITT fax images with two WebAssembly files, and Gander shipped neither. A page using those formats drew its layout with holes where the pictures should be, and showed no error. Both decoders now ship with the app. CCITT is what a scanner usually reaches for on a black and white page, so scans had the same problem, though nobody had reported it.

Shared spreadsheets
An OpenDocument spreadsheet shared from a mail or chat app often arrives without a filename, and Gander turned it away straight after offering to open it. It now goes by the file's type as well as its name.
Rate and Share
The home screen menu has Rate and Share above About Gander. Rate only appears on a copy the Play Store installed, since Play takes ratings from nobody else. Share sends a link to the site.

Install
Gander-1.17.apk runs on every phone. The app ships no native libraries, so there is no architecture to choose.
Viewing PDFs needs Android System WebView 125 or newer (May 2024). Any phone still receiving WebView updates is well past that.
