Statusline showed $10.16 saved across sessions while ctx_stats showed $64.72 of Opus 4 tokens. Two different formulas, same data — confusing and impossible to reconcile.
Per-Mert fix: drop $ math entirely (estimates anyway), mirror the exact byte-based numbers ctx_stats narrative renderer surfaces. One source of truth, two displays show the same thing.
