Shopclass 6.4.0
This release makes your site safer to run and easier to keep up to date.
You can now add a second step to the admin sign-in: a code from an authenticator app on
your phone. Shopclass can also install security fixes by itself when you switch it on. It
waits a day after a fix comes out, installs it at night, and e-mails you how it went. You
choose whether you get stable releases only, or release candidates and betas too.
Saved search alerts now keep only what a visitor searched for, never database code, and the
upgrade converts your existing alerts for you. Large phone photos shrink in the browser
before they upload, so they no longer fail the size limit. The listing and page editors
share one tidy layout, and plugins get a shared queue for slow work.
Photos can now be saved as WebP, which makes them about a third smaller. The installer can
clean up an install that stopped halfway and start again, and it gives clearer help when the
database details are wrong.
Pages load faster on sites with memcached or APCu: a cached page now asks the database
far less. The download is smaller too, because libraries nothing used anymore are gone,
jQuery among them. If your theme or a plugin still needs jQuery, it has to bring its own.
Photos keep truer colours: new sites and the Docker image use ImageMagick where it is
available, and iPhone HEIC photos can be added from the listing form. JPEG quality is now
called Photo quality, because it sets WebP quality too.
Core now draws every account page, the public profile and the contact page itself, with
hooks a theme can use to add to them. Your listings shows each listing's real status,
and a member's profile has a Message button. Plugins get a stronger query builder and
job queue.
A new server can now get a site with one command, with free HTTPS: the Docker image gets
and renews its own certificate.
