Shopclass 6.4.0
This release makes your site safer to run, easier to keep up to date, and faster.
Admins can now add a second sign-in step: a code from an authenticator app on their phone.
Shopclass can install security releases by itself when you switch it on, and e-mails you how it
went. You choose the update channel: stable releases only, or release candidates and betas too.
Saved search alerts no longer hold database code, and the upgrade converts the ones you have.
Buyers get a receipt by e-mail when they pay, and can print it from their orders page. When the
payment plugin supports it, a paid order can be refunded from its order screen and links to the
payment in the provider's dashboard. The new Stripe Payment plugin in the market does both.
Core now draws every account page, the public profile and the contact page, with hooks a theme
can add to; the bundled Storefront 2.0 theme is built on them. E-mails go out in one tidy layout
a theme can restyle. Photos can be saved as WebP, large phone photos shrink before upload, and
iPhone HEIC photos are accepted.
Pages load faster: a cached page asks the database far less, and listing pages read every
card's badges in one query. Slow work such as cleanup runs in a background job queue that
plugins can use too. A new server can get a site with one command, with free HTTPS.
Tools → Backup and restore backs up and restores your site, and Tools → System info
checks your database and repairs it. The database is tidier: related rows are linked, and
usernames are unique.
jQuery and other unused libraries no longer ship; a theme or plugin that needs jQuery must bring
its own. Theme and plugin authors should read the Breaking section before upgrading.
