github meshcore-dev/meshcore-ha v3.0.2

Changes

  • send_channel_message now fails with an error when the text is longer than the firmware can send: 160 bytes (UTF-8) for the companion name, : and the text together. Before, the firmware cut the text without an error. The call also fires meshcore_message_send_failed with reason: too_long. Automations that send longer channel messages must shorten them. (#376)

Fixes

  • repeats_observable uses the 176-byte serial frame of companion firmware 1.16.0 and later. Channel messages of 140 to 155 bytes (name, : and text) showed Unconfirmed although their repeats were counted. On firmware older than 1.16.0, such a message can show 0 Repeaters. (#375)
  • The companion device shows its firmware version and model. They stayed at Unknown and Mesh Radio on installs where no entity was added after the companion answered. (#306)

Notes

  • Validation: 453 integration tests and 373 unit tests pass. Runs on the maintainer's Home Assistant.
  • Test requirements updated: meshcore 2.3.15, cachetools 7.2.0, pycryptodome 3.24.0, ruff 0.16.10.
