github mescon/Muximux v3.7.0

Embedded apps can drive Muximux: a dashboard such as Homarr can switch
apps from its tiles and links, and open a specific page inside another app
from a widget, without touching the pane next to it. Split view in
Chromium-based browsers follows your clicks again, and go-jose is updated
for a denial-of-service fix.

Some things this makes possible:

  • A dashboard as your start page. Homarr tiles pointing at
https://muximux.example.com/#sonarr switch Muximux to Sonarr, menu,
health status and shortcuts included, instead of opening a second Sonarr
    inside the dashboard.
  • One-click layouts. A tile linking to #sonarr+sabnzbd or
#grafana+uptime-kuma opens both apps side by side in split view, so a
dashboard can double as a set of workspaces.
  • Straight to the item. A "recently added" widget that opens the movie
in Emby or Jellyfin, or an alert list that opens the matching Grafana
dashboard, with no searching in the target app.
  • Runbooks that link to the tool. A notes or wiki app whose instructions
    link to #portainer or #proxmox.

Setup, more ideas and the full message API are on the
Navigation from Embedded Apps
wiki page.

Upgrade notes:

  • Nothing changes until you turn on "Allow navigating Muximux"
(allow_navigation) for an app. Turn it on only for apps you trust: a
target="_top" link in that app can send the whole tab to any website.

Added

  • Embedded apps can navigate Muximux. A new per-app setting, "Allow
    navigating Muximux" (allow_navigation, label
muximux.app.allow_navigation), lets an embedded app such as a Homarr
dashboard switch apps through target="_top" links to #app and #a+b
hash routes, or open a specific page inside another app with a
muximux:navigate message. Split view keeps working: the pane already
showing the target is reused, otherwise the sender's pane is replaced, and
the other pane is never touched. Off by default; an opted-in app can send
the tab to any website through a _top link, so enable it only for apps you
    trust. (#529)
  • Links without target="_top" work too. A Homarr app tile set to open in
the current tab, or any plain link to https://muximux.example.com/#emby,
used to load Muximux inside the app's frame and leave it blank. In an app
with allow_navigation, that copy now hands the link to the Muximux window,
which puts the app back and switches. The link must be on a page at one of
your apps' addresses; proxied apps still need target="_top". (#529)
  • Widgets inside an app can send muximux:navigate. A page in a frame
inside an opted-in app (a Homarr iframe widget, for example) can post to
window.top and counts as that app, if it is served from the address of one
    of your Muximux apps. (#529)

Fixed

  • Clicking into an app in split view makes its pane the active one again.
Chromium-based browsers never reported the click, so the menu kept opening
apps in whichever pane was active before.

Security

  • github.com/go-jose/go-jose/v4 v4.1.6 -- fixes GHSA-mgcc-cww5-fp2q, a
denial of service when parsing JWKs with crafted RSA keys. Muximux parses
the OIDC provider's signing keys with it, so a malicious or compromised
provider could tie up the CPU. The copy of go-jose v3 that Caddy's PKI
module pulls in has no fixed release yet; govulncheck finds no reachable
    use of it.
  • golang.org/x/net v0.62.0 -- fixes GO-2026-6860 and GO-2026-6866 in
the HTML parser; govulncheck reports neither as reachable from Muximux.
