This is a massive update focused on cross-platform compatibility, performance, and user experience.
- Full Windows Support: The application now compiles and runs seamlessly on Windows.
- Terminal Detection: The app now automatically detects if a terminal supports inline images (like Ghostty/Kitty). If not, it safely falls back to a clean text only layout so all features remain 100% functional on any standard terminal.
- Install Scripts: Added automated one-line install scripts for Mac, Linux, and Windows to make downloading effortless (
install.shandinstall.ps1). - Lag & Performance Fixes: Major performance improvements to the UI rendering loop to fix lag and sluggishness.
- Video Player Integration (VLC): Fixed VLC installation path detection on Windows so it launches perfectly, and resolved a critical bug where external subtitle tracks were failing to load in VLC.
Warning
Windows support is currently in beta. While the core features work perfectly, you may experience occasional rendering glitches or slow performance compared to macOS and Linux. I am actively improving this. If you encounter any bugs on Windows, please open an issue so I can fix them.
