Caution
Evaluate before upgrading production. This release targets .NET 11 RC2, which has Microsoft's go-live support license; this replaces the outdated RC1 release.
Portway 0.10.2 lowers request latency, fixes chunked upstream responses, targets new builds, and has various front-end tweaks.
Before you upgrade
This upgrade requires the latest .NET 11 release candidate to be installed:
- Upgrade to .NET 11 RC2.
Fixes
- Fix: Proxy endpoints respond up to five times faster. In our benchmark, gateway overhead per request dropped from about 10 ms to 2 ms.
- Fix: Slow DNS servers no longer delay every proxy request. Upstream hosts are resolved once per connection.
- Fix: Proxy endpoints return complete responses from upstreams that use chunked encoding, such as nginx and ASP.NET Core.
- Fix: Busy instances no longer risk running out of memory on restart. Startup memory use is independent of the request history in
metrics.db. - Fix: With caching disabled, the log no longer fills with a "Could not acquire lock for caching" warning per proxied GET request.
- Fix: Settings set by an environment variable display "Managed by environment variable". Hover over the note to see the variable name.
- Fix: The footer link target displays "New tab" and "Same tab" instead of
_blankand_self. - Minor: Releases include
.deband.rpmpackages with a bundled .NET runtime. See Deploying on Linux. - Minor: Releases and the Docker image support arm64.
- Minor: Releases include a
SHA256SUMSchecksum file. - Security: Updated various dependencies.
