github mediux-team/AURA v0.9.109

Breaking Changes

  • Settings are now stored in the aura database instead of config.yaml. On first start, an existing config.yaml is imported automatically and renamed to config.yaml.imported. After that, a new config.yaml is ignored unless AURA_IMPORT_CONFIG=true is set.
  • Database.Path in config.yaml is replaced by the DATABASE_PATH environment variable. A custom path from an existing config.yaml is still used, but set DATABASE_PATH to the same value going forward.
  • When aura needs to be set up and no login is configured (e.g. a fresh install), the setup page asks for a setup code, which aura prints in its logs on startup. If a login is configured, setup requires logging in instead.
  • Search now requires a login when authentication is enabled.
  • Port 8888 no longer needs to be mapped. The web interface port (3000) also serves the API, the Sonarr webhook and the API docs (/swagger/index.html).

Added

  • Added support for configuring multiple Media Servers at once. This will allow user to have one Main Media Server and multiple Secondary Media Servers. The Main Media Server is used for the Home Page, Saved Sets, and Download Queue. The Secondary Media Servers have new images applied to them to maintain consistency across all media servers.
  • Added support for Silo Media Server
  • Added support for saving local images for Jellyfin/Emby/Silo users.
  • Added option to have "Add to Queue" checked by default in the Download Modal for better user experience.
  • Settings now save automatically as you change them. Anything that needs to be tested gives an option to "Test And Save".
  • Changes to Jobs page are saved automatically as you change them.
  • Added an Undo option after a setting is saved to quickly revert to the previous value if needed.
  • Added all settings to the Search bar, so you can quickly find and change a setting without having to navigate through the Settings page.
  • Added Export and Import Configuration in Settings > Advanced, to back up or restore your configuration.
  • User Preferences are now saved in aura, so they are the same in every browser and on every device.
  • Added option to "Add to Database Only" as a saved user preference.
  • Added the AURA_DISABLE_AUTH environment variable to turn off authentication if you get locked out due to forgotten password or misconfigured OIDC settings.
  • Added the DATABASE_PATH environment variable to set a custom path for the database file.
  • Added the AURA_IMPORT_CONFIG environment variable to import an existing config.yaml on startup, even if a database already exists.
  • During setup, the Media Server libraries are loaded automatically once the connection works.
  • Added Keep Old Logs (days) and Keep Old Logs (files) to Settings > Logging, to choose how long and how many old log files are kept.
  • Added the previously hidden settings to the Settings page.
  • Added a Docker health check, so Docker, Unraid and Portainer show whether aura is healthy. /api/health now also reports whether aura is starting or in setup, and whether its database can be read.
  • Added daily database backups, which keep the last 7 copies in /config/backups. Change how many are kept, see the backups and back up now in Settings > Backups, and change the schedule on the Jobs page.
  • Added Favorite Creators to Settings > User Preferences. Creators you follow on MediUX are added automatically and marked as Following.
  • Added option to "Automatically Download Images for New Items". When a new item is added to the your Main Media Server, the best set from your Favorite Creators is added to the Download Queue with your Download Defaults. Sets are picked by creator rank, then by MediUX popularity. "Run for All Items" does the same for every item without a saved set.
  • Added the "Auto Download New Item" notification template, sent when a set is added to the Download Queue for a new item.
  • Added a "Check for New Media Items" job, which adds new items from the Main Media Server to aura every 10 minutes, without a full refresh.
  • Added support for Silo collections on the Collections page.
  • Added refresh progress to the Home, User, Collections and Saved Sets pages, similar to the Download Queue progress. It only shows when a refresh takes longer than a moment.
  • Added a load time badge to the Home and User pages in Debug Mode, showing how long the page took to load and how much data it downloaded.
  • Added option to restore notifications to their default templates in Settings > Notifications.
  • Added option to retry failed downloads in the Download Queue, which will re-add them to the queue with the same settings as before.
  • Added failed download count to the Navbar so you can see at a glance if any downloads failed.
  • Added option to a redacted version of the config file. This is helpful for sharing your config file without exposing sensitive information like tokens, passwords and API keys.
  • Added automatic retry (up to 3 times) for failed download queue items. First retry is after 5 minutes, second retry is after 30 minutes, and third retry is after 2 hours. After that, the item is marked as failed and will need to be retried manually.
  • Added option to customize the naming convention for downloaded images. This will allow you to not only save your files in a specific location or along side your media files, but also to customize the actual name the images end up with.

UI Tweaks

  • Added the media server logos to the Media Server type list, and the MediUX logo to the Settings and setup sections.
  • Redesigned the Settings page.
  • Redesigned the Onboarding page.
  • Redesigned the Jobs page.
  • The Saved Sets page now explains how to save a set when nothing is saved yet, and hides the filters, view options and Bulk Edit until there are sets.
  • While aura is starting, and during setup, the navbar is hidden to avoid confusion.
  • Sets added to the download queue are as saved in the database on the Home Page. If they fail to be saved, a refresh is required.
  • CHANGELOG page now shows inline code blocks correctly for better readability.
  • The Home and User pages are now filtered, searched, sorted and paged by aura backend instead of the browser, so large libraries load faster. The browser no longer keeps its own copy of the libraries.
  • The previous and next arrows on a media item, and the same item in other libraries, now come from aura backend.
  • The Refresh button is now always on the right of the floating buttons, with Jump to Top on its left.
  • Progress bar text is shortened on mobile so it is no longer cut off.
  • The startup page now fits on mobile screens.
  • The Sonarr & Radarr settings no longer squeeze the title against the type dropdown on mobile.
  • Search results show sooner after typing stops.
  • The Download Queue History tab is now the Failed tab and only shows downloads with warnings or errors.
  • Redesigned the Download Queue cards to match the Saved Sets cards.

Fixed

  • Fixed issue where OIDC login would not work properly in some cases.
  • Fixed invalid blurhash errors when loading images.
  • Fixed "database is locked" errors that left download jobs stuck and dropped download history. The database now uses WAL mode, so AURA.db-wal and AURA.db-shm files will appear next to AURA.db. (Thanks to Artic0din for the PR!)
  • Fixed not being able to type a comma in the OIDC Allowed Emails and Allowed Domains fields.
  • Fixed passwords, tokens and other secrets being written to the logs and shown in the browser.
  • Fixed the Emby/Jellyfin User ID not updating when the media server token changed.
  • Fixed the Silo Profile ID not updating when the media server token changed.
  • Fixed aura not shutting down cleanly when its Docker container is stopped.
  • Fixed issue where Jellyfin/Emby servers were not updating the cache. (Thanks to mattsigal for the PR!)
  • Fixed the MediUX Popularity sort on the media item page. Popularity is a rank where 1 is the most popular, and sets that aren't ranked yet are sorted last, newest first.
  • Fixed an item being fetched twice when loading a library that has an item without a TMDB ID.
  • Fixed seasons not loading for Jellyfin/Emby servers behind a URL subpath.
  • Fixed caching MediUX images slowing down browsing. Images are now cached in the background.
  • Fixed the media item page's set sorting and filters resetting after opening a collection.
  • Fixed the home screen icon missing when aura is added to an iPhone home screen from a page other than Home.
  • Fixed sets downloaded automatically, like those from favorite creators, showing "Never" as their Last Downloaded date.
  • Fixed the Download Queue page showing nothing after one item finished, even when other items were still waiting.
  • Fixed the Saved Sets Date Downloaded sort showing some items in the wrong order.

Updated

  • Updated backend dependencies to latest versions for better security and performance.
  • Updated frontend dependencies to latest versions for better security and performance.
  • Libraries now load faster from the Media Server, and are loaded from the aura database on startup so pages are ready sooner.
  • Your MediUX follow list is now cached for 5 minutes.
  • The "Claim Next Download Queue Job" log line is no longer repeated while the Download Queue is empty.
