  • Added line casings (outlines): -style casing-color= casing-width= casing-opacity=. casing-width= is how far the casing extends past each edge of the line (default 1px). All of a layer's casings are drawn beneath all of its lines, so that lines join cleanly where they cross.
  • [web] The line style panel has a Casing section, with a color, opacity and width.
  • -symbols writes each symbol as attribute fields instead of an svg-symbol object: icon= (square, star, polygon, ring, pie or arrow) with icon-size=, icon-color=, icon-rotation= and parameters like icon-sides=, icon-values= and arrow-head-width=. The new ids= option gives only the listed points new symbols, so that some of a layer's symbols can be restyled.
  • Added curve symbols: -symbols type=curve draws a smooth curve through the points of a multipoint feature, fitted with Hobby's algorithm like a path label. A curve whose last point repeats its first is closed and can take a fill; an open curve can take arrowheads.
  • In quantized TopoJSON output, -o precision= now sets an exact quantization grid anchored at the origin (0, 0), so files exported with the same precision share a grid (e.g. adjacent map tiles). Decoded coordinates match the output of precision= with no-quantization.
  • [web] Added a symbol tool ("edit symbols" in the pointer menu, or "Draw: symbols" in the layer panel) for placing circles, squares, triangles and stars and drawing curves and arrows by hand.
  • Icons have a fill and a stroke of their own: icon-fill=, icon-stroke= and icon-stroke-width= (written by -symbols, and accepted by -labels). A ring is a stroke with no fill by default, and can now be given a fill, and its thickness is its icon-stroke-width=; the other shapes are filled and can be given a stroke. On a label, these style the icon apart from the text.
