New

  • Review reads the finished change top to bottom, under the approval card:
why it was made, what you asked for with the slice and scenario that proved
each point, the slices with their tasks, decisions and files, what was
deliberately left alone, how it was checked and where it ships. Open a file
to read its diff and comment on any line. QualityLayer draws the page from
the task's records, so your agent writes nothing extra for it, and your team
reads the same page without the code.
  • The pull request opens with a description in the same order. Three sections
are new: the slices with their files, what was asked for and how each point
was proved, and what was deliberately not changed. Each file links to its
own diff in the pull request. The description is kept as
    records/pull-request-body.md, and Files opens it.
  • A task stays open until its pull request is merged. After the approval, the
Review page shows the pull request with its checks and reviews. A thread, a
request for changes or a failing check brings the task back to Needs
    attention
, the sidebar and the bell, and /ql review <task> goes through
them with you. Your agent fixes what needs fixing and checks again what the
fix touched; Push the fix sends it, and QualityLayer never pushes on its
own. The merge closes the task. Without gh, the pull request is not
followed and the task closes at the approval, as before.
  • The start card says where the build lands: the branch you have checked out
and the branch a pull request will go into. Start on a new branch creates
ql/<task> when you click it, and qualitylayer branch new [name] does the
    same from a terminal.
  • The Outline checks for gaps once, before its scenarios are final: what could
stop the change from working, what happens on cancel, empty, zero, limit and
duplicate inputs, and two things at once. What matters becomes a scenario
step, a definition of done or a Not doing line, and one line under
Decided while outlining records it. The check of the Outline by a second
reader now also looks for a gap this check should have caught.
  • Project checks report each part as it finishes, and a long suite is split
into parts on its own. Only a failed part runs again. A test that fails once
and passes when run again alone is recorded as flaky and shown, and Verify
goes on. A check that is no longer in the project's list no longer counts.
  • A commit from a checkout that other sessions share looks only at the build's
own files, so their unfinished work no longer blocks it.
  • plan amend can reopen a finished task in Verify and Review, accepts an
approved passage restored word for word, and says how long its note may be.
    plan amend --for T<n> --add-file <path> adds files to a task's card
without editing the document by hand.
  • Slice helpers no longer amend the Plan themselves. They report what should
change, and your agent records it.
  • The Review card lets you approve while only non-blocking items are open, as
the approval already did; they are settled with it.

Fixed

  • The App no longer keeps a processor core busy while an agent works. The page
read everything again on every saved file, and each read started the same
git commands again. Git's answers are now kept until something changes them,
the page hears about a burst of saves once a second, and each change makes
the page read only what it can affect. On a test task, git dropped from about
    200 commands a second to 5, the page's reads from 51 a second to 6 and the
App's processor use from 42% to under 10% while an agent wrote files. It
    stays near 0% when idle.
The App now also watches its own use: if it ever runs hot for a while, it
slows its background reads, frees memory and notes it in server.log. Files
that grow in ~/.qualitylayer (cost timelines, session logs) are capped.

  • Accept as is after two fix rounds lets your agent go on at once; before,
it waited up to 100 seconds.

  • Right after the approval, a review thread or failing check no longer asks
you to push a fix that was never made: the task's own closing commit is not
    counted as one.

  • On Windows, the installer no longer refuses a folder written with its short
name (such as C:\Users\RUNNER~1) as outside your home folder.

  • Two QualityLayer Apps on one computer (another home, or a teammate's App
through a forward) no longer sign each other's pages out.

  • Slack messages no longer get lost when several updates go out at once, and
Home shows who a locked Plan approval is waiting on.

  • When a background wait is already running, the stop check no longer asks for
a new one, and the reply says when a second opinion has started.

  • A check that went stale after a code change is set aside and assigned again,
    instead of blocking Verify.

  • A task started on your main branch no longer pushes that branch when you
approve. Approve and open a pull request says that there is no branch to
open a pull request from and gives the commands.
