MFG Unlock 1.4.5 — Engineering & Reliability

This update builds on 1.4.4 with stronger compatibility checks, safer recovery and more reliable latency controls.

Improvements

• Stronger compatibility checks. Kernel replacements and binary patches verify known content before applying changes. Unrecognized content is refused instead of patched speculatively.
• Safer rollback and buffer lifetime. Replacement memory remains allocated while runtime descriptors still reference it, including partial restoration failures.
• Improved hook reliability. Installation and removal failures preserve the state needed for recovery.
• More reliable Latency Guard trials. Measurements begin after successful application and use fresh, non-overlapping windows.
• Reduced temporary allocations. Common module-discovery notifications avoid the previous large heap buffer while retaining long-path support.
• Clearer performance diagnostics. PresentMon analysis identifies incompatible metric definitions and presentation modes before comparing results.

Local Stable geometry, V2 Compatibility inpaint, native pacing and the existing HUD/UI behavior are retained. Legacy software pacing profiles were checked on Streamline 2.8 and 2.14.16; unknown binary content uses the conservative fallback.

Validation

All 42 automated tests passed. The engineering validation also passed 21 provider patch/restore checks, ten complete blend shader compilations, and numerical photometric and border tests on the GPU.

In-game validation of this build remains pending. These checks do not establish an improvement in FPS, displayed frame pacing, image quality or physical latency.

Installation

Close the game, replace the previous addon with renodx-mfgunlock.addon64, keep only one MFG Unlock addon installed, and restart. Your existing configuration can be retained; no INI reset is required.

Fully restart the game when changing the addon or provider; hot reload is unsupported. This download contains the addon only.
