4.6.0 - Easy ROM Set Support

Downloading full ROM sets

As of a few releases ago, there was always support for adding your own custom "archives" that pupdate can use to download assets for your cores. It's kind of hidden away and not very obvious to use though. So I wrote a bunch of them with links to full rom sets for a bunch of cores and added a menu item to manage them.

  • Go to Pocket Maintenance > Manage ROM Set Archives
  • Select Yes to sync the list
  • Using the menu, you can go through and enable the custom archive for whatever cores you want
  • Next time you run update all, it will check the custom archive for each core you selected, and download a full ROM set to your sd card's Assets/{platform} directory
  • Once finished it marks that archive as complete and it wont try again. If you ever want it to re-download, go back into Manage ROM Set Archives and mark the one you want as incomplete and then run Update All again
  • You can still add your own archives as well by editing your settings file

Important note: You WILL need to provide valid credentials to archive.org in order to use these custom archives, since the files are locked behind login. Go to the pupdate readme to see how to do that
