Action required before upgrading
- Source installations: Upgrade your Node.js runtime to Node 24 (or at least 22.23.4) before updating Nametag. Docker installations will use Node 24 automatically via the new container image.
Contact and profile photo caching
Nametag now supports standard browser and client photo caching using HTTP ETags. When viewing or downloading contact and profile photos, clients now cache images locally and revalidate them with the server using content hashes, eliminating unnecessary downloads when photos have not changed.
