Tine 0.8.1

Bug fixes for Tine 0.8.0: a blank window on Linux with older NVIDIA drivers, a new page in the right sidebar, cloze reveal, Expand and Collapse in embeds, and a Windows save race.

Fixed

  • Linux: automatically apply the WebKitGTK DMABUF workaround when an NVIDIA driver older than 610 is loaded, avoiding the blank window reported with the 0.8.0 AppImage on legacy drivers; newer NVIDIA drivers keep GPU rendering. Explicit TINE_GPU and WEBKIT_DISABLE_DMABUF_RENDERER settings keep precedence (GH #777).

  • Windows: a save made while the previous save of the same page was still replacing the file is no longer refused as "write target escapes graph root" when Windows reports the replaced file's location for the page (internal REG-WIN-WRITE-TARGET-DISPLACED; completes the 0.8.0-beta.4 fix).

  • A brand-new page with no file yet now shows an editable first bullet when opened in the right sidebar, so you can type or drag blocks into it without first editing it in the main pane (GH #524).

  • Clicking a hidden {{cloze}} reveals the answer in place again (and hides it on a second click), instead of opening the block editor (GH #763).

  • Expand and Collapse (one level) now follow a block embed's own folds and open or close child page embeds, while keeping embedded source folds separate (GH #768, GH #769).

Download an installer for your platform below. Windows and Linux ship both x64 and ARM64 builds (match your CPU). Windows users who prefer no installer can grab the portable Tine_0.8.1_x64-portable.zip for their architecture. Windows builds are currently unsigned, so Windows may show a warning on first launch. The macOS build is signed and notarized. On macOS, if Tine repeatedly asks to access Documents, see the workaround in the README.
