Fixed

  • A table, grid or board block that is the first block of a page and has its view set but no title yet is no longer rewritten as page properties when the page saves, so typing its title or adding rows no longer raises "Page-header properties must contain only valid key:: value lines" (often twice) or leaves the page unsaved. When that message is shown for a real page-properties block it now names the first line that is not a key:: value property (or says the block has child blocks), appears once however often you leave the editor, and is no longer shown for a block that is not the page's first block (GH #210). Choosing "Show children as: Outline" on such a block (which leaves its column-width settings behind) keeps it a block too, and setting an alias, icon or filter on that page no longer writes into the table block.
  • Repeatedly collapsing a block whose collapsed:: true line follows a quote (as Logseq on Android writes it) no longer stacks extra collapsed:: true lines or shows them as text; existing stacked lines are removed on the next collapse toggle (GH #721).
  • Linux: middle-click pasting text selected in a block into a rich-text app (Tuta, Anki, ...) now pastes only the selection. Before, selecting the last line of a block (a one-line block, or Select All) also pasted the editor's own markup (<div contenteditable="plaintext-only">), the selection toolbar's button labels and the text of the blocks below (GH #530).
  • Queries: folding a query block's bullet now folds its results too, as in Logseq, also when the block has no children (GH #619).
  • Queries on Windows: one click on a query's title starts the rename with the caret in the field; before, every rename after the first needed a second click. The same fix applies to the other fields that open focused (query builder values, table and board cells, context menu search) (GH #619).
  • Queries: the options in Find blocks ▾ and the other builder menus stay on one line instead of wrapping word by word, and a menu opened in one query is no longer drawn under the query below it (GH #619).
  • Queries: a page condition reads Page is X / Page is not X / Page is in namespace X instead of On page is X (GH #619).
  • Queries: with Pages and blocks, a condition on the block's page (such as Page is X) now finds that page in the Pages section instead of saying "page.name is not a field of this query" (GH #619).
  • A query block with children no longer shows a second, clipped copy of the live query in the sticky parent row while you scroll its children (GH #619).
  • Phones and tablets: Sidebar, Search, Back and Forward are in the top bar again by default, in the same place whether or not you are editing, as in stable and on desktop. The bottom row from Beta 4 is now a setting, Navigation buttons at the bottom (Settings → Appearance, off by default, this device only), for thumb reach (GH #716, GH #598).
  • Phones with Navigation buttons at the bottom on: closing the keyboard with Back or the keyboard's own hide key brings back the bottom row (sidebar, Search, Back, Forward). Before, the block stayed in editing, so the editing toolbar stayed in the row's place without a keyboard, and the help button could jump off screen. Tap the block to bring the keyboard and the editing toolbar back (GH #716).
  • A query that lists a block you just edited no longer sometimes stays at "Loading query results…" with a count of 0 after you leave the editor, until some later change re-ran it (UI-QUERY-STUCK-LOADING-AFTER-EDIT). Leaving the editor briefly marked the page busy without telling the query blocks, so a result that arrived in that moment was dropped and never asked for again.
  • Sticky parent bullets appear as their row reaches its place in the sticky stack, so they no longer pop up over the next child while scrolling (GH #717; GH #718).
  • On phones and tablets, which have no tab strip, Open in new tab is no longer offered in page, block and preview menus, and Ctrl/Cmd-click, middle-click and Ctrl/Cmd+Enter in Search open the link in place instead of in a background tab you cannot reach; use Open in sidebar there. Desktop is unchanged (GH #705).
  • All pages: the header no longer shows a lone "JOURNAL DATE" line under PAGE, and a "—" no longer strikes through the first letter of the next row (the journal-date cell had no grid column). The journal-date column now appears only while "Show journals" is on, and its checkbox is drawn from the theme instead of a white native box on dark surfaces (UI-ALL-PAGES-GRID-001).
  • Settings search no longer lists unrelated settings for a one-character query such as "发" (a single character now matches only a setting's name, keywords and aliases, not its description), puts settings whose name matches before those matching only their description, and scrolls to a result whose control appears a moment after the tab opens, such as Developer tools (GH #706).
  • Org graphs: a page you create from Search (Ctrl+K), with Customize for Today's sections, or by opening a page or journal that has no file yet is now edited as Org from the start. Before, until Tine next read the file, a property added to it (a block id from Copy block ref, a page property, a collapsed or heading flag) was written Markdown-style (id:: …) into the .org file, where Logseq and Tine show it as text instead of reading it as a property (ORG-CREATED-FORMAT).
  • Unlinked References show every mention that fits the excerpt as a highlight again, and the numbered circles come back only for mentions past the excerpt, as before 0.8.0-beta.1 (GH #200; GH #556's one-highlight-at-a-time change is reverted, its bullet that opens the source block stays).

Download an installer for your platform below. Windows and Linux ship both x64 and ARM64 builds (match your CPU). Windows users who prefer no installer can grab the portable Tine-Beta_0.8.0-beta.5_x64-portable.zip for their architecture. Windows builds are currently unsigned, so Windows may show a warning on first launch. The macOS build is signed and notarized. On macOS, if Tine repeatedly asks to access Documents, see the workaround in the README.
