Tine Beta 0.8.0-beta.10

pre-release3 hours ago

Fixes for the 0.8.0 stable candidate: wide query result tables sit inside the page again (GH #749, a regression since 0.8.0-beta.6), the macOS app icon matches other apps' size (GH #747), and data-safety fixes from the 0.8 audit. Fixes described elsewhere as "fixed for Tine 0.9 (development)" are not in this Beta; they arrive with the first 0.9 Beta.

Fixed

  • Wide tables in query results sit inside the page again instead of being shifted to the right and cut off (GH #749).
  • The macOS app icon keeps Apple's icon-grid margin, so the Dock no longer shows Tine larger than other apps (GH #747).
  • A save no longer stalls, and renames or moves no longer report Busy, when another writer releases a page at the moment Tine's page host goes to sleep: the host's path-lock retry could be dropped, leaving it waiting for an unrelated wake (internal: page-host driver lost wakeup).
  • Settings → unused assets now keeps images referenced only by a duplicate journal file for the same day, including references in its page properties. Moving an asset to trash checks those files too, and refuses if one cannot be read or analyzed (audit L8-03).
  • A page being deleted stops accepting typing, paste, property and sheet edits until the delete answers. If deletion fails or is not confirmed, the page becomes editable again with its text intact; input can no longer slip past unsaved-text tracking during deletion (audit L9-06).
  • A draft whose name is an alias is added to its owner only once even when the owner's save is not confirmed. A later edit replaces the landed copy instead of appending a second copy, and a refused landing keeps the draft recoverable (audit L9-05).
  • Renaming a page preserves longer tags such as #foo+bar, #c++, #R&D and #foo🎉 when only their prefix matches, and updates complete tags before trailing punctuation such as #foo.. Renaming c++ also updates #c++ (audit L3-02).

Download an installer for your platform below. Windows and Linux ship both x64 and ARM64 builds (match your CPU). Windows users who prefer no installer can grab the portable Tine-Beta_0.8.0-beta.10_x64-portable.zip for their architecture. Windows builds are currently unsigned, so Windows may show a warning on first launch. The macOS build is signed and notarized. On macOS, if Tine repeatedly asks to access Documents, see the workaround in the README.
