  • Backups (Settings → Backups). One archive holds the whole database, every setting, the app key, the console–server link secret and, with the bundled server, the ID server's key pair and peer database. Runs daily at 03:30 with three retention tiers that apply at once: the newest 7, the first backup of each of the last 8 weeks, the first of each of the last 6 months. Copies each archive to FTP/FTPS or S3-compatible storage (AWS, MinIO, B2, Wasabi, R2 and the like) with a Test connection button. Restore from the list or from an uploaded archive; the warning says it plainly, restoring overwrites everything. Encrypted values are re-keyed when the archive came from a different app key, so a backup restores into a fresh container. Also php artisan cortendesk:backup and cortendesk:restore. (#99)
  • Default group for new devices (Settings → Server). Every first-seen device lands in the group you pick, so a user group with access to it sees new machines without an administrator filing each one. (#97)
  • Approve when the device's user signs in (Settings → Server, under the approval gate). A pending device whose RustDesk client is signed in to this console with a user account is approved on arrival and that user becomes its owner. Works in either order. (#95)
  • Web client: click-to-approve works. A peer set to accept by click answered the login in a way the web client took for a failure, so the prompt on the remote vanished. It now waits for the person to accept. (#98)
  • GitHub Actions in the release and scanning workflows are pinned to commit SHAs; the web client refuses to open anything but a ws:// or wss:// URL.

Notes

  • No database migrations in this release.
  • Backups are written to /data/backups inside the volume and survive upgrades. An archive contains the app key and every secret the database holds: treat it like a password, especially off-site copies.
  • Manual installs: set CORTENDESK_BACKUPS_PATH to a writable directory, and CORTENDESK_RUSTDESK_DIR to the hbbs data directory if the console can read it. FTP copies need PHP's ftp extension (the image has it).
  • Wiki: Backups.
