Want to try 3.0.0? Beta 8 is coming.
3.0.0-beta.8 is the next pre-release on therelease/3.0.0line and will be published once its release PR merges. It migrates about 200 more sources to the new BaseSource pipeline.
Waste-type labels change for every migrated source. Labels become the canonical, localised waste-type names instead of each provider's own strings, so automations, templates, cards and customisations that compare an exact label may need updating.
Stable installs are unaffected. This release (2.36.0) is stable and has no breaking changes. The beta is opt-in only.
How to test 3.0.0-beta.8 (HACS)
Once v3.0.0-beta.8 has been published:
- In HACS, enable the Show beta versions option.
- In HACS, open Waste Collection Schedule and choose Redownload.
- Select
v3.0.0-beta.8as the version and confirm. - Restart Home Assistant.
- Check that your waste collection sensors and calendar entries still show the dates you expect.
- Check any automation, template, dashboard card or customisation that compares a waste-type label. Migrated sources now report canonical, localised labels, so an exact-string match may have changed.
- A few sources changed arguments. Read the "Breaking changes" section of the 3.0.0-beta.8 release notes before updating.
Rolling back: open Waste Collection Schedule in HACS, choose Redownload, select v2.36.0 and restart Home Assistant. The legacy fetch() contract stays supported, so an individual source can also be reverted if one of them is the problem.
Reporting problems: please open a regular issue as usual, with the source id, what you expected and what you saw.
What's new in 2.36.0
This release adds Sigtuna, RWM (Sittard-Geleen, Beek, Stein) and Newmarket (ON) to existing sources, and fixes about 45 sources whose providers changed their websites or APIs. No breaking changes and no deprecations; existing configurations keep working.
