Mac shortcuts hotfix — 2 November 2026
- DESKTOP SHORTCUTS now works on Mac: creates a game app on your desktop and in your Applications folder, with its own game picture. Choose it in the launcher's settings.
- Adapted from HSolis95's PR #1, retaining the current Pokémon Fulldex app, GBA support and existing save folders.
- Added Mac launcher build checks and verified shortcut bundles, icons, duplicate handling and launching through paths with spaces/apostrophes. Both Mac packages rebuilt and verified. Physical-device gameplay has not been tested here.
- This repatch changes the Mac downloads only. Tagged source.
Apple hotfix — 1 November 2026
- Mac, iPhone and iPad downloads are now updated with the cave/black-screen transition fixes, updated Pokédex screens, cheat folders and search, save protection and backup tools, and launcher update notifications.
- GBA support is included: Emerald, FireRed, LeafGreen and Ultra Violet, with the GBA engine and widescreen patches built in. Bring your own ROMs.
- Mac downloads cover Apple silicon and Intel. iOS remains an IPA for sideloading; install it with your preferred signing tool.
- Mac package architecture, library and signing checks passed, including Intel Mac launcher startup. The iOS device and simulator builds compiled successfully, and IPA content/checksum checks passed. The iPhone/iPad simulator launch step stalled and was stopped, so launch testing remains unconfirmed. Gameplay has not been tested on physical Apple devices.
- Apple update checks open the download page; install these packages manually. Existing saves stay in the app's data folder.
- Source: Apple hotfix. Downloads include SHA256SUMS.txt.
Major fixes: cave black screens and updated Pokédex
- FIXED: BLACK SCREENS IN DARK CAVES (HeartGold / SoulSilver). Before using Flash, the visible circle of light is restored on PC and Switch instead of the cave turning completely black.
- FIXED: CAVE / DOOR TRANSITIONS GETTING STUCK ON THE WRONG SCREEN (SoulSilver). The overworld stays visible through the fade instead of leaving the X menu or touch screen on display. The white cave-entrance flash now fills the widescreen view, without black side bars.
- UPDATED POKÉDEX (HeartGold / SoulSilver): the cover fills the wide screen, slides across its full width and no longer appears twice. Touch-screen swipes open and close it.
- UPDATED POKÉDEX (Platinum): the list sits beside SEARCH, SWITCH and CHECK; controller button prompts match the connected pad.
- UPDATED POKÉDEX (Black / White / Black 2 / White 2): the opening Poké Ball cover fills the widescreen view.

Downloads
Existing download filenames are unchanged. Mac and iOS downloads now include the Apple hotfix.
Included tonight
- Cave/fade, widescreen weather, water-sparkle, battle-animation and Pokédex fixes; phone controls, clock after sleep, move selection and remappable quick states.
- Cheat folders, search, full scrollable details and database status; database-defined exclusive choices remain supported.
- Cartridge saves kept when loading states, eight rotating backups, confirmed DS backup restoration with a safety copy, and a quick-state warning.
- In-launcher update checks and install/later prompts; verified downloads, previous-program backups and build-aware SHA256SUMS.txt. Existing installations need this update installed manually once to gain the updater.
- GBA RetroAchievements and ARM64 Linux packaging.
- The familiar launcher layout. The unfinished redesign is excluded.
- Corrected Windows timing: the experimental Direct3D 11/display-pacing path slowed the preview on a 240 Hz screen; the established default restored about 59.8 FPS in repeated checks. The experimental code is retained for further testing.
Windows, Linux x86_64/ARM64, Switch and both Android architectures were compile-checked. Offline updater tests, cheat/search tests, real pause-menu save restoration with isolated copies, and rendered menu checks passed. The Android signing identity matches the previous release. These builds have not been play-tested on every device; Mac and iOS were subsequently rebuilt and checked for the Apple hotfix.
The platform releases contain their own SHA256SUMS.txt. Source is available from this tag's source archives.
