Linux needs glibc 2.38 or newer. The .zsync files are for AppImage updates, not separate downloads.
What's new in this update
GBA games
- The pause menu now works like the DS games'. On the Switch, + is the GBA's START and + and − together open the pause menu (START BUTTON in CONTROLS swaps them). It has the same DISPLAY, SOUND and CONTROLS pages and CHEATS as the DS games, and the settings they share (aspect ratio, volume, fast forward sound, FPS counter, fullscreen) are now one setting for both.
- New display options: HD FILTER (smooth, redrawn edges), LCD EFFECT (a faint grid like a GBA screen) and COLOUR CORRECTION (the colours as a GBA screen showed them). SCALING keeps SHARP, SMOOTH and PIXEL PERFECT, now explained, and ASPECT RATIO (AUTO, 16:9, 16:10, 3:2, 4:3) replaces WIDESCREEN.
- Fast forward like the DS games: the music stays at normal speed (or turn FAST FORWARD SOUND off for silence), and a quick tap moves a menu cursor once.
- Switch: the sound is no longer crackly or sped up.
DS games
All thanks to ClickingMaster (#76 to #95).
- Learning a move with four already known: the new move and Cancel now show on the widescreen summary.
- HeartGold and SoulSilver: the Apricorn Box, Pal Pad, Berry Pots and Vs. Recorder open full size instead of as a cut-off panel; Fly's sky band reaches both edges; the Running Shoes button has its right edge.
- Leaving a building: the opening wipe now covers the whole width, instead of the middle showing early.
- Saves are safer: importing a save no longer replaces the one you have (the old one is kept as a backup), a save that can't be read is no longer started over, and a damaged save state is refused instead of half-loaded.
- PC: steadier frame times on 144 Hz and other non-60 Hz screens; the mouse can click the pause menu; the key that closes the menu no longer reaches the game; clicks on the Hybrid layout's small top-screen inset no longer touch the game; a settings file edited in Notepad is read properly.
- Switch (WIDESCREEN WORLD off): 3D shapes sit on the right pixels, as on a DS.
- Smaller fixes: the cheat details fit on small screens; smooth scaling no longer trims the summary screen's EXP bar; the summary view's rounded corners; a clear message when setup is given an incomplete ROM.
