Extension broke sites that harden their prototypes (#9)

The Click'N'Load interceptor added in v2026.07.12 runs in the MAIN world of every page you visit. It hooked XMLHttpRequest by assigning to the instance, which throws under strict mode on any site that makes XMLHttpRequest.prototype.open non-writable. mega.nz does exactly that, so the exception fired inside its boot code and the site failed to load entirely.

Hooks are now installed with Object.defineProperty, patch the prototype rather than wrapping the constructor (which also restores instanceof XMLHttpRequest), and every hook is guarded so the interceptor can never take a page down again. CNL interception still works on hardened sites rather than merely failing safe.

The "saved" tab did nothing (#4)

The popup's saved nav entry called a function that was never ported to MV3. AngularJS silently ignores a click handler that resolves to undefined, so the button was inert. The panel is now reachable, and sending from it works — previously it quietly re-saved the link instead of sending it to JDownloader. The feedback entry was dead for the same reason and is fixed too.

Packaging and console errors

• buildMeta.json was never included in the release zip, so the settings page threw on every packaged build. It is now generated from the tag at build time.
• Versions are no longer zero-padded. Chrome parsed 2026.07.13 as 2026.7.13 and warned about it on every load.
• Being logged out no longer reports itself as an unhandled promise rejection.

Install

1. Download myjdownloader-extension-mv3-2026.7.13.1.zip below
2. Extract it
3. Open chrome://extensions/ and enable Developer mode
4. Click Load unpacked and select the extracted folder
5. Sign in to MyJDownloader from the extension popup

Note on CAPTCHA

CAPTCHA solving still has no confirmed end-to-end test against a live JDownloader. If a CAPTCHA routes to the extension, please report what happened whether it worked or not. CAPTCHA in Brave remains open at #5.
