MyJDownloader Extension MV3 v2026.07.12
Click'n'Load works again, including remote JDownloader setups (Docker / NAS)
This release fixes the long-standing issue where CNL silently failed: hoster pages reported "successfully transferred" while nothing ever arrived in JDownloader (#2, #6).
What was wrong
- Captured CNL payloads were written to a storage flag nothing read, or sent still-encrypted with no device selected.
- The fetch/XHR interceptor ran in the isolated content-script world, which cannot see the page's real network calls under Manifest V3.
- The declarativeNetRequest rules only "allowed" requests to
127.0.0.1:9666, which fails outright when JDownloader is not on the same machine.
What changed
- Captured CNL requests now flow through the same in-page toolbar and device picker used for normal "add link" requests, wrapped as a
dummycnl.jdownloader.orgURL that JDownloader decrypts locally. This works no matter where JDownloader runs, and lets you choose the target device. - Interception moved to a MAIN-world content script (fetch, XHR, and form submits), plus network-level capture via
webRequestand faked local responses viadeclarativeNetRequestredirects. This also covers<iframe>and<script>-based CNL patterns, and Brave.
Note: the extension now requests the
webRequestpermission (observation only, used to read CNL payloads at the network layer).
Internal
- Removed roughly 1,300 lines of dead MV2-migration leftovers (
BackgroundController,CnlService, the old route table). - Test suite: 171 passing.
Credits
- @Krux86 for the root-cause analysis (#6) and the complete CNL fix (#7), tested end-to-end against a Docker-hosted JDownloader.
- @BlackScript for the early groundwork on MV3 CNL interception (#1).
- @trohnjavolta, @pchristod, and @CL1302 for the reports and testing on #2.
