MailFlow v4.0.2

Fixes for 4.0.x: CardDAV merge mode no longer erases contacts' own details, SSO sign-in works in the Android app, dark email bodies no longer show a white page around them after switching folders, and wide emails stay fitted to the reading pane. Update when you can. Thanks to @phillip9933, @coolswood and @Monkey7539, and to everyone who reported these.

Fixes

  • CardDAV merge mode keeps a contact's own details. With "Merge — CardDAV wins", every sync (hourly by default) set a contact's phones, notes, names and organization to empty whenever the server's card didn't have them, and renamed a contact to its email address when the card had no name. The server's card now wins only where it has a value. A sync made while you edit a contact no longer overwrites the edit.
  • Dark email bodies after switching folders (#639). Right after a folder switch, an email shown dark could keep a white page around it, with parts of it left as sent, until you opened another email and came back. MailFlow now waits until the email is fully loaded before showing it dark.
  • Wide emails stay fitted (#641). A wide email was fitted to the reading pane once, as it opened. One that grew wider as its images loaded, or whose pane got narrower afterwards (the sidebar, the divider, the window), was cut off on the right. It is now refitted whenever its width or the pane's width changes, and grows back to full size when there is room.
  • Attachments in the conversation view (#634). Messages opened as cards in a conversation now list their attachments, with the same download, preview and "Download all" as the reading pane.
  • Gmail app-password accounts saved sent mail twice (#631). Gmail files its own copy of what you send, so MailFlow no longer adds a second one for Gmail accounts that sign in with an app password and send through Gmail. Accounts that send through another server keep MailFlow's copy.
  • Re-linking an Outlook or Microsoft account (#637). Signing in with Microsoft for an account that already existed reported success but kept using the old password. It now switches the account to Microsoft sign-in, and an account that had been backing off after failed logins reconnects straight away. A Microsoft sign-in for a mailbox hosted elsewhere is refused with a message.
  • Settings at other font sizes (#642). At 90% or 110%, Settings, the command palette and the shortcut help were drawn slightly blurred in Chrome and Firefox. At 125% on a smaller screen, Settings ran off the top of it. Both are fixed.

Android app

  • SSO sign-in works in the app (#620). Signing in with an SSO provider opened the provider in the browser, which couldn't finish the sign-in, so it ended with "SSO session expired". The provider's pages now open in a window inside the app, which shows the site you are signing in to, and signing out also ends the provider session the app holds. Sign-out needs both this app and an updated server.

Upgrading

ghcr.io/maathimself/mailflow-backend:latest points at 4.0.2, published for amd64 and arm64. No database migrations and no configuration changes. The Android fix needs the new app from this release.
