Superseded by HelixSR 1.9.3. Version 1.9.2 also disabled alternative frame-generation routes in Scaler; 1.9.3 restores those alternatives while keeping only HelixSR frame generation unavailable.
HelixSR 1.9.2 focuses on upscaling. HelixSR frame generation is not included while startup freezes and compatibility issues are investigated.
- Restores the INT8 calibration and default layer selection from 1.9.0, addressing the changes associated with reported slowdowns and visual artifacts in 1.9.1. Affected hardware still needs confirmation.
- Retains newer upscaling compatibility fixes, the working Speed boost setting (Auto / On / Off), and reactive-mask support. Untick Disable Reactive Mask in Scaler and restart to use a mask supplied by the game.
- Removes HelixSR frame-generation execution from the DLL and its components from setup. Settings and leftover files cannot enable it.
- Includes setup scripts and HelixSR Scaler. Updating through setup removes old HelixSR frame-generation files and disables the Scaler frame-generation route while preserving other settings.
Extract HelixSR-1.9.2.zip and run helixsr-setup.bat (Windows) or helixsr-setup.sh (Linux / Steam Deck). Select AMD FSR for an FSR drop-in, or DLSS for HelixSR Scaler. The setup also creates files for manual installation.
A game's separate native frame generation is outside HelixSR's upscaling DLL and remains under the game's control.
Downloads also include HelixSR Scaler 1.0.5 and the existing HelixSR Desktop 1.0.3 installers. Scaler's HelixSR frame-generation route is disabled in this build even when older settings request it.
Validation includes CPU checks of the NGX and FSR APIs, shader-resource comparison with the INT8-restored build, and offline fresh-install, upgrade and removal checks. These checks do not establish performance or image quality on affected users' GPUs.
