HelixSR 1.8.0: one file per game, a simpler setup, optional sharpening.
Install: extract the zip, run helixsr-setup.bat (Windows) or helixsr-setup.sh (Linux) and press Enter. For each game it asks install? [f/o/n]: f = FSR (pick AMD FSR in the game), o = OptiScaler (pick DLSS in the game), n = skip. Only the letters that work for a game are shown; Enter takes the first. At the end it lists what to pick in each game.
What changed since 1.7.0
- One file: the setup builds the network into HelixSR's DLL. No separate weights or kernel files are left over.
- FSR games get HelixSR as a drop-in by default, also when they have DLSS (f). o puts it behind OptiScaler instead. Run the setup again and type f or o to switch a game; it switches in place.
fsr3-drop-infolder: ready HelixSR DLLs for FSR 3.1 games you install by hand (rename the game's FSR DLL to*.original.dll, copy HelixSR's next to it). The manual also explains how to use HelixSR from your own OptiScaler.- Games the setup did not find: at the end it asks for another game; drag its folder into the window.
- Optional sharpening, off by default (as DLSS 4): NVIDIA's sharpening filter (NVIDIA Image Scaling, MIT) or AMD's RCAS, in
helixsr.ini:[Sharpening] Sharpener = nvidia,Sharpness = 0.5. See the README. - Wave size picked as in 1.4.3: behind OptiScaler (the game sees an NVIDIA GPU) the 32-lane shaders run, as 1.4.3 did;
WaveSize = 64inhelixsr.iniforces 64 lanes. The setup always builds both sizes again. - Uninstaller can also take the network out of HelixSR's DLL again.
Updating: extract 1.8.0 into a new folder, run its setup and press Enter for your games.
If 1.8.0 does not work for you, use HelixSR 1.4.3 and please open an issue with helixsr.log.
The download contains no NVIDIA weights or NVIDIA-derived kernels; the setup builds them on your PC from NVIDIA's DLSS DLL. After the setup, HelixSR's DLLs contain NVIDIA's network: they are for your own PC, do not share or upload them.
