v4.0.8 - Live Relevant Notes in Agent Chat

You start typing a question, and a note you had forgotten helps you ask a more specific one. With Live on, Relevant Notes now follows your Agent Chat draft and conversation, bringing related notes into view as you think. Read a suggestion, add it to your chat context, and use what you found to refine your prompt. (#3152, #3153)

Refine your prompt as you write

Turn on Live in Relevant Notes, then start typing a question in Agent Chat (Miyo 0.2.27 required). Related notes appear as you write, reminding you of useful details you may have forgotten. (#3152, #3153)

See something useful? Read the note and click Add to Chat. Use what you find to make your question more specific before you send it. (#3152)

Live Relevant Notes suggests workshop notes as a prompt is typed, then the user reads and attaches notes and refines the question

Chat-based suggestions require a connected Miyo version that supports chat recommendations. Older Miyo versions keep editor-note suggestions; turning Live off also keeps Relevant Notes tied to the editor note. (#3152, #3153)

Choose which built-in skills your agents use

Open Copilot settings → Skills to see Your Skills and Built-in Skills separately. In a built-in skill's menu, choose Disable skill to turn it off for every agent, or use its agent buttons to choose which available agents can use it. (#3172, #3173, #3174)

Your choices survive restarts and skill refreshes, so unwanted built-ins stay disabled. Use View SKILL.md to read the bundled instructions in a read-only preview. (#3172, #3173, #3174)

Enhancements

  • Quick Chat follows your vault instructions. With no saved prompt selected, Quick Chat uses your vault-root AGENTS.md by default, and a selected saved prompt still overrides it. (#3212)
  • Know when a Copilot update is available. Obsidian shows a notice once per new release at startup, with a View release notes button. (#3181)
  • Send an image without filler text. Agent Chat accepts image-only messages with Send or Enter when the selected model supports images. (#3169)
  • Choose Quick Chat models on mobile. Basic settings now includes the default-model picker and enabled-model list. (#3166)
  • Check whether your providers are reachable. Opening BYOK or saving provider changes refreshes verification, with badges for missing keys, rejected credentials, and failed checks. (#3164)
  • A consistent setup for every agent. OpenCode now uses the same Configure UI as Claude and Codex in Copilot settings. (#3162)
  • A quieter place to start writing. Chat and instruction fields show fixed hints instead of continuously typing and erasing examples. (#3170)

Fixes

  • Quick Chat no longer stops early at its tool-call limit. Tool loops now run up to 32 steps, so longer vault tasks finish instead of halting after four. (#3211)
  • Uploaded images stay in saved chats. Quick Chat and Agent Chat transcripts embed images beside their messages and save the files using your vault's attachment setting. (#3165)
  • Reopened Quick Chats keep saving to the original note. Continuing a renamed conversation preserves new turns in the same history entry. (#3158)
  • Stop also clears queued follow-ups. Sending a new message afterward keeps its timer and Stop button visible while that turn runs. (#3167)
  • Less jumping when the iPhone keyboard opens. Quick Chat no longer shifts farther than needed, and the phone sidebar avoids extra keyboard spacing. (#3171)
  • Keyless LM Studio works in Quick Chat. Endpoints configured without an API key no longer fail with a missing-credentials error. (#3168)
  • Windows Codex detection finds custom npm installations. Auto-detect recognizes supported adapters installed in custom directories on PATH. (#3156)
  • Notes with large embedded images export without overflowing image validation. Existing image formats and document limits stay the same. (#3155)
  • New Agent Chat tabs check for Copilot updates again. An open pane no longer keeps its first release result indefinitely. (#3160)
  • Miyo setup no longer reports success for an unregistered vault. If a folder name or overlap causes a conflict, Copilot verifies that this vault is registered before connecting. (#3178)
  • Relevant Notes distinguishes a missing vault from a disconnected Miyo. It names the unregistered vault and points you to local folder settings or the machine hosting Miyo. (#3179)

Install

Update Copilot from Obsidian → Community Plugins. On BRAT? After the stable release is published and mirrored to the preview repo, BRAT picks it up too.

For chat-based Relevant Notes, connect Miyo with chat recommendation support and turn on Live. Report issues via Copilot Settings → Advanced → Report an Issue.
