v4.0.6 - Note indexing with Miyo and Relevant Note upgrade

Relevant Notes in Obsidian, with a separate Powered by Miyo logo below the screenshot

Copilot’s note search gets an upgrade with Miyo. Miyo is now the main indexing engine powering the semantic search, helping you find the relevant context to your query in a large vault.

Relevant Notes are better integrated with Miyo and are getting a new Live mode. It brings related notes into view as you write, so you can build on ideas from across your vault without stopping to search. (#3097, #3092, #2991)

Check out a live demo for the Live updates in Relevant Notes..

Enhancements

  • See why a note is missing. Relevant Notes tells you when Miyo is disconnected and explains why a note is not available for search. (#2992, #3088)

  • A smaller plugin download. Copilot 4.0.6 saves about 140 KB compared with 4.0.5. The retired indexing system is gone, and Copilot cleans up recognized old index files automatically, preserving your notes. (#3091, #3092, #3094)

Fixes

  • New opencode chats correctly use your default model. A leftover thinking-effort setting no longer makes a new chat fall back to a different model. (#3098)
  • Codex setup uses its bundled login tool. The setup instructions now use codex-acp cli login, fixing the login path for users who installed the adapter without a separate Codex CLI. (#3081)
  • Chat prompts respect reduced motion. When your system requests less animation, the empty composer shows a steady hint instead of rotating suggestions. (#3079)

Breaking Changes

  • Keep the folder rules you set in Miyo. Miyo becomes the source of truth of note indexing exclusion rule. When adding a new vault, review its folder rules there, since Copilot's old search exclusions are no longer copied into new Miyo connections. (#3100)
  • Vault QA has been retired. Quick chat now only include the free chat and copilot plus mode.(#3093). A new quick chat mode is coming soon in the upcoming 4.1 release. Stay tuned for a brand new quick chat experience in the upcoming releases.

Install

Codex requires adapter 0.0.45 or newer. Update @agentclientprotocol/codex-acp if setup reports an unsupported version. (#3081)

Update Copilot from Obsidian → Community Plugins. On BRAT? After the stable release is published and mirrored to the preview repo, BRAT picks it up too.
