v4.0.17 - Excalidraw integration, Miyo search control

Copilot now understands, draws, and edits Excalidraw drawings. With the Excalidraw plugin enabled, agents in Copilot build cleaner diagrams, with labels and arrows that stay attached, using fewer tokens and less time than the same agent outside Copilot. In our test, Codex drew a diagram with 60% fewer tokens in 23% less time.

This release also lets you send messages right away in Claude agents and adds Miyo settings for how much an agent's search returns.

  • Copilot agents can now create beautiful Excalidraw drawings, and read and edit the drawings you already have. A Copilot card in the chat shows each drawing they work on. (#3889, #3893, #3896, #3898, #3900)

  • Interrupt Claude's current reply and send your queued messages right away with Send now. (#3884)

  • Set Maximum results and Search variants in Settings → Copilot → Miyo to keep agent searches small, and ask an agent to search only a folder you name. (#3832, #3839)

  • When an Agent Chat reply fails, the Report this to the Copilot team? card offers a report with the error filled in. (#3852, #3869)
  • Your message no longer jumps to the top of the chat when you send it, so the reply you were reading stays in view. (#3829)
  • A Claude chat stays running until its background subagents finish. (#3830)

🛠️ Bug Fixes

  • GPT-6 models on your OpenAI API key work in Quick Chat's Copilot Plus mode. (#3843)
  • Agents write math inside tables and $$ display math that Obsidian renders, and keep backup copies out of your vault. (#3870)
  • Codex can now safely use the Obsidian CLI skill. (#3878)
  • The agent model picker no longer shows greyed-out Copilot Plus models when you already have a Copilot license. (#3855)
  • An OpenCode chat opened on another computer starts on your model and shows its full context window. (#3875)
  • Quick Chat's input in the mobile sidebar sits right above the keyboard on iPhone and iPad. (#3892)
  • Clicking a PDF page citation in a chat opens that page at its top. (#3895)
  • Removed the deprecated built-in Copilot models that the plugin no longer uses. (#3851)

⚠️ Compatibility Notes

  • The Excalidraw tools need the Excalidraw plugin 2.29 or newer. (#3889)
  • Copilot now installs OpenCode 2.0.32, so models you turn on from a custom provider, such as a local model, stay on after Obsidian restarts. Copilot-managed installs download it the next time Copilot loads. (#3899)
