v4.0.12 - OpenCode 2 in your vault

OpenCode, the agent runtime behind Copilot Plus and your own model providers, is getting a major update. It will allow Copilot to better control model context, permissions, and tool executions. More improvements to OpenCode will come soon.

✨ Enhancements

• Copilot is now fully compatible with OpenCode 2. (#3365)

• Use the new Copilot button in the note header to quickly access Agent Chat with the note attached. (#3363)

  

• Agent responses now auto-scroll. You can still scroll up to read at your own pace. (#3358)

  

• Link back to a saved Quick Chat or Agent conversation from your notes. Click Copy Chat Link beside New Chat, then paste the link into a note to reopen the conversation. (#3369)

  

• Copilot agent is fine-tuned to work better with your frontier AI agent with our up-to-date system prompts. (#3366)

• See what Codex installation is doing, with elapsed connection time, downloaded bytes, and named setup stages. (#3361)

🛠️ Bug Fixes

• Selected note text now reliably shows up as chat context. (#3368)

⚠️ Compatibility Notes

OpenCode users need version 2.0.3 or newer. OpenCode 1 and earlier 2.0.x versions no longer run; open OpenCode Configure and choose the Copilot-managed 2.0.3 version. Newer custom versions remain selectable, but affected releases can omit configured models when a chat starts. (#3365)

📦 Install

Update Copilot from Obsidian → Community plugins.

On BRAT? After the stable release is published and mirrored, update from BRAT as usual.

Report issues through Copilot settings → Advanced → Report an Issue.
