Test package, not for production. It exists to verify the fix for #190 and is not in the deb repository.
What it changes
On a machine with a wired NIC and a wifi card whose driver registers wlan0 a few seconds late (reported with a MediaTek mt7921e), LINBO took the interface list too early and never tried wifi. With this package LINBO keeps waiting up to netwait seconds (default 10) for wlan0 if
/etc/linuxmuster/linbo/wpa_supplicant.confis configured, and- a PCI wifi card (class
0x0280xx) is present, and wlan0does not exist yet.
Machines without wifi configuration, without a wifi card, or with wlan0 already present are not delayed. USB wifi sticks are not covered.
Side effect
A wifi card for which LINBO has no driver or firmware costs up to netwait seconds per boot when wifi is configured. netwait=<seconds> in KernelOptions changes the wait.
Install on the server
dpkg -i linuxmuster-linbo7_4.3.40.wlan1-0_all.deb
update-linbofs
GitHub shows the file name with a dot instead of the tilde; the package version itself is 4.3.40~wlan1-0.
Remove a workaround hook such as update-linbofs.pre.d/10_warte-wegen-wlan.sh first, otherwise both are active. Then boot a client over wifi and tell us whether wlan0 is found and how long the start takes.
The version 4.3.40~wlan1-0 sorts before the final 4.3.40, so apt upgrade replaces it with the release.
