💰 Income targets and caps for trackers
Trackers in MoneyMatter now have a Limit type. Besides Spending, you can pick Income target for money you want to bring in, such as a yearly salary or freelance revenue. The tracker stays green while you're on pace, and going over counts as a win. Pick Income cap for income you have to stay under, like a small-business tax threshold or a benefits limit. MoneyMatter warns you as you get close.
You can set the type when you create a tracker or change it later in the tracker's settings. Your existing trackers stay on Spending.
🔔 Update alerts for self-hosted instances
If you host MoneyMatter yourself, a dot on your avatar in the sidebar tells you when a newer version is out. Open the menu to see the version number and a link to its release notes. Thanks to @ptiozzo for the suggestion.
✨ Other improvements
- MoneyMatter is now available in French. The community translates it, so some screens may still show English for now.
- The trackers widget on the dashboard shows each tracker's logo next to its name.
🐛 Bug Fixes
- A tracker's progress bar turned orange at 70% used and red at 90%, however far into the period you were. On a yearly tracker in November, 75% spent showed a warning even when you were on pace. The colours now compare your progress against how much of the period has passed, so on-pace spending stays green. Trackers without both a start and an end date keep the fixed 70% and 90% thresholds.
- In a budget plan, only lines that carry over overspending had a badge. Lines that carry over unspent money, or start fresh each period, looked the same as every other line. Now any line whose rollover setting differs from the plan's shows a badge naming its setting.
- If you removed a currency that a portfolio used as its display currency, the portfolio quietly switched back to your base currency. Those portfolios show their chosen currency again. You also can't remove a currency while a portfolio displays in it.
- Picking a future start date for a loan let you submit the form, and then saving failed with a technical error. The form now flags the date right next to the field.
- A balance adjustment with a note longer than 1,000 characters failed with a generic error. You now get a clear message about the length limit.
