What's Changed
🎯 Financial goals
Save toward a car, a holiday or an emergency fund from the accounts you already have. In MoneyMatter, open Planning > Goals, set a target in any currency and an optional date, then pick the accounts that hold the money. Each account counts toward the goal by a percentage of its balance or by a fixed amount, and one account can back several goals. Goals read your balances and never move money, so a goal moves forward on its own when you add money to a linked account.
A goal shows what you've saved, what's left, your monthly pace, how much you need each month to hit the date, and the month you'll reach the target. On the What if tab you can try a different monthly amount, date or shares without saving anything. If your active goals need more each month than you typically save, a banner on the Goals page shows how much you're short and which goals don't fit.
When you reach a goal, you get a notification and the goal moves to Ended. A dip in the balance won't bring it back. If it's still below the target 30 days after you reached it, it returns to Active. You can change that number of days on each goal.
The new Goals dashboard widget lists your active goals with their progress. A switch in its gear menu adds reached goals to the list. AI assistants connected over MCP can read your goals, create them and update them.
Goals come with Essential, Plus and the 40-day trial. On the Early Adopter plan, the Goals page offers a free 14-day trial.
🗂️ Your own category order
Categories now sort A to Z at every level by default. To set your own order, open Settings > Categories, switch to Organize and drag a category between two rows. Your order shows up wherever you pick a category, including the transaction form and filters. Thanks to @jfexyz for the suggestion.
✨ Improvements
- Sidebar: Budget now sits in the Planning group, next to Goals, Trackers and Recurring payments.
- Amounts: Shortened amounts of 10k and more drop trailing zeros, so you see ₴60k instead of ₴60.00k. An amount that rounds up to a million shows as ₴1M.
- Security: This release includes security fixes. If you self-host MoneyMatter, update soon.
🐛 Bug Fixes
- When you opened a detail page, such as a budget plan, goal, tracker or account, the sidebar didn't highlight its section. It does now.
- If you signed in or registered as a different user in a tab that was still signed in to another MoneyMatter account, the dashboard skipped the welcome screen and the sidebar's account list kept loading until you reloaded. Signing back in to the same account was never affected. Thanks to @algedabra for the report.
