v0.30.6 – Taxes in analytics, filtered totals & default tags per category

What's Changed

🧾 Taxes in your analytics

Pick your tax categories in Settings → General → Tax categories, and MoneyMatter shows that spending as taxes instead of an expense. Subcategories are included.

  • The money flow chart on Analytics → Cash Flow gets a Taxes branch between income and expenses, with a tile showing taxes as a share of income. A tax refund still counts as income.
  • The same chart can break each expense category down into its subcategories.
  • The new Average Tax Rate dashboard widget shows the share of your income paid in taxes over the last 3, 6 or 12 months. It adds a bar for each of the last 12 months and a breakdown by tax category.

🧮 Totals and "Select all" for filtered transactions

The Transactions page shows totals for everything that matches your filters: the number of transactions, plus net, income, expense and transfers in your base currency. Select some rows and the totals switch to your selection.

Select all now selects every transaction that matches the filters, including rows you haven't scrolled to yet. Bulk edit and delete then apply to all of them, minus any rows you untick. You can delete up to 500 transactions at once. Grouping stays off until every selected row has loaded.

🏷️ Default tags per category

Give a category Default tags in its edit dialog. Pick that category in the transaction form and the tags appear in the tag field, where you can still change them before saving. Tags you added by hand stay.

Tick Also apply when AI categorizes a transaction to get the same tags on AI-categorized transactions. Existing transactions keep the tags they have.

📊 Dashboard widgets

  • Cash Flow: a savings rate line runs over the previous-periods bars. Turn it off with Show savings rate line in the widget settings.
  • Categories Watchlist: a Sort by setting orders categories by highest or lowest spend. Dragging a row switches back to your custom order.
  • Latest Records: each transaction shows its account's logo on the category icon. Hover or tap it for the account name. You can turn it off in the widget settings.
  • FIRE progress: the Numbers style shows your progress percentage as its own large figure beside the time to FIRE.

🤖 AI

Paying Plus subscribers on moneymatter.app now get Claude Haiku for AI categorization and for reading statements, receipts and invoices. Trial and early-adopter accounts stay on the shared model. If you connected your own AI key, nothing changes.

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • Mark paid on a recurring payment added a second transaction when the payment already had a linked transaction dated in that period. Mark paid now offers Use the existing payment first, and you can still record a new one. Recurring payments with no linked transaction in the period weren't affected.
  • When you set a recurring payment to match transactions, the account picker listed vehicle and loan accounts. It no longer does.
  • The "Field is required" message under empty form fields showed in English in every language, for example in the new account, recurring payment and sign-up forms. You now see it in your language once that language has a translation.
  • In the menu next to the add-transaction button in the header, the grey hint under Import data and Attach invoice ran past the edge of the menu in German, Ukrainian and Spanish. The hint now wraps onto a second line.
  • On a vehicle's details page and on Transactions → Optimizations → Reconciliation, the sidebar highlighted no section. Accounts and Transactions now light up there. Other pages were fine.

Thanks to @algedabra for the reports.
