v0.27.0 – Transaction automations & templates

What's Changed

⚙️ Transaction automations

MoneyMatter can now file transactions for you as they arrive. Build a rule on the new Automations page: match on the note, merchant, payee, amount, transaction type, account, account group, bank connection or day of the month, then set a category, add tags, set a payee or write a note. You arrange the rules in the order they should run, and each one tracks how many transactions it has matched and when it last fired.

Before you save a rule, a preview lists the past transactions it would have caught, so you can check it does what you meant. Rules only touch transactions that arrive from a bank sync or an import, so anything you type in by hand stays exactly as you entered it. Delete a category, tag, account or payee that a rule points at and the rule pauses itself and says which reference went missing.

🧾 Transaction templates

Transactions you retype every month can now be saved as a template. Open the transaction dialog, pick a template, and the form fills in with the account, category, payee, tags, payment type and note you saved. Save a template without an amount and it asks you for the amount each time.

📜 Import history

Every import you have run now shows up on a new Import History page, linked from the import hub. Each entry tells you where the file came from, when you ran it, how many transactions it created and which accounts it touched. Open one to see the transactions list narrowed to that import alone.

Two notes on older imports: anything you ran before 28 December 2025 is missing from the list, because MoneyMatter did not keep enough about those imports at the time. YNAB imports were also labelled as plain CSV imports, and now say YNAB.

🤖 Automations through your AI assistant

An AI assistant connected to MoneyMatter can now read your automation rules, create them, edit them, reorder them, preview a rule's matches and delete a rule. It works with the same rules you manage on the Automations page.

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • Tapping the day you had already picked in a date field cleared the date instead of leaving it be. This hit every form with a date picker: transactions, transfers, loans, subscriptions, budgets, investment records and balance adjustments.
  • On iOS 15 and Safari 15, the subscriptions widget on the dashboard, the spike markers on the balance trend chart and the annual overview's monthly comparison chart all crashed the page. Newer browsers were fine.
  • Deleting a transaction group that no longer existed, after you removed it in another tab, left the dialog frozen with no message. You now get an error toast and the stale row disappears.
  • Toggle switches were hard to read in dark mode. The knob had almost no contrast against the track, so on and off looked alike.
  • A payee never got its logo when the logo provider answered with an unusually long brand name. Those payees resolve now.
