github leolobato/playden-ps5 v0.7.2
Playden for PS5 0.7.2

The same Playden as 0.7.1, packaged the way ProsperoStore installs apps. Playden keeps its title, FAKE77031: ProsperoStore now accepts it, so the move to PPSA97031 announced in 0.7.1 is not needed and is cancelled. Same runtime kit as 0.7.0 and 0.7.1 (0.13).

Warning

Alpha software. Playden signs in to your real Steam account and reads and writes your Steam Cloud saves. Read Before you use it first.

Downloads

File What it is
playden-ps5-0.7.2.zip The Playden app (the FAKE77031 folder), the console tools (tools/), the README, the compatibility list and the license files.
playden-kit-0.13.zip Runtime kit 0.13, the same as in 0.7.0 and 0.7.1. Playden downloads it by itself; you need this file only to install the kit by hand.
playden-update.json Used by Playden to update itself and to find its kit. You don't need to download it.

Updating from 0.7.1, 0.7.0 or a 0.7.1 beta: Playden offers the update the next time it starts, or from Settings › Updates › Check now (39 MB, app only). Your sign-in, games, saves and Game settings are kept.

Updating from 0.6.0: Playden offers the update the next time it starts, or from Settings › About › Playden updates › Check now. It updates the app and, if it isn't installed yet, kit 0.13. Make sure console storage has at least 8 GB free first (PS5 Settings › Storage).

Updating from 0.5.0 or older: update to 0.6.0 first (see its notes), then let Playden update itself to 0.7.2.

New install: unzip playden-ps5-0.7.2.zip into a folder of its own and copy the FAKE77031 folder to /data/homebrew/ (see the README). On its first start Playden offers to download the runtime kit; you can sign in while it downloads.

Changed

  • The app folder is at the top of the zip. Until 0.7.1, everything in the zip was inside a playden-ps5-<version> folder. Now FAKE77031 is at the top, with tools/ and the documents next to it, which is the layout ProsperoStore installs. Unzip into a folder of its own; the README's commands (such as python3 tools/collect_logs.py --host <PS5 IP>) run in that folder as before.
  • The license files are also inside the app folder, so a copy installed from ProsperoStore carries them too.
  • No move to PPSA97031. 0.7.1 said Playden's title would become PPSA97031 in 0.8.0, because ProsperoStore accepted only PPSA IDs. ProsperoStore 01.000.110 accepts FAKE77031, so Playden stays where it is: one app, one tile, nothing to move. The code for the move is taken out.

Nothing else changed: the app works as 0.7.1 does. The ProsperoStore listing comes next.

Known issues

The same as in 0.7.1 (see its notes).

Thanks

  • @darkxex for making ProsperoStore accept custom title IDs.
