The second beta. Playden now starts when its app folder was copied by hand without its empty folders, and its first screen says which startup step failed and how to fix it. It also tries a fix for saved Steam sign-ins that stop working after about a day. Same runtime kit as 0.7.0 (0.13). The kit is not attached here: Playden downloads it from 0.7.0 when it needs it, and playden-kit-0.13.zip there is the file for a manual kit install.
Warning
Beta of alpha software. Betas can have new bugs. Playden signs in to your real Steam account and reads and writes your Steam Cloud saves. Read Before you use it first.

playden-update.json
| Used by Playden to update itself and to find its kit. You don't need to download it. |
Updating from 0.7.1-beta.1: Playden offers this beta at start, or from Settings › Updates › Check now. Only the app is downloaded; the kit stays.
Getting the beta from 0.7.0: turn on Settings › Updates › Beta updates. Playden checks again at once and offers 0.7.1-beta.2. Only the app is downloaded; the kit stays. Your sign-in, games, saves and Game settings are kept. You can turn Beta updates off again at any time: Playden keeps the beta until 0.7.1 or newer is out, then updates as usual.
Updating from 0.6.0: Playden offers only stable versions until you turn on Beta updates, so update to 0.7.0 first (see its notes), or install this beta by hand.
New install: copy the FAKE77031 folder to /data/homebrew/ (see the README). On its first start Playden offers to download the runtime kit.
Fixed
- "Root access is missing" after copying Playden by hand. Some FTP clients and browser uploads leave out empty folders. Without the empty
logsandplayden-datafolders in its app folder, Playden stopped before it asked for root access and showed "Root access is missing". It now starts anyway and makes the two folders again.
Changed
- The first screen says what went wrong. When Playden can't start, the screen now names the step that failed: the app folder is incomplete, the ELF loader isn't answering on port 9021, the ELF loader stopped while it received the root helper, the root helper could not give access (load kstuff), or the console's network did not start. Each comes with what to try. The startup error under it is still the line to quote in a report.
- Steam sign-in names the console's machine. Saved sign-ins kept stopping about 24 hours after signing in. Playden now sends the same machine ID when you sign in as when it logs on to Steam later. This may fix it; it is a test. If your saved sign-in still stops working after a day, please say so in a report.
Known issues
The same as in 0.7.0.
