Linux ARM64 support
Native Linux aarch64 downloads are now available: Debian package, RPM, Arch package, and standalone archive.
ARM64 binaries require glibc 2.36 or newer. Debian 12 ARM64 containers work on Apple Silicon; Alpine and other musl-based distributions are not supported by these prebuilt binaries. See the Docker installation instructions.
Engine and portability improvements
- Expanded XeLaTeX and LuaLaTeX engine coverage; the 127-case isolated compatibility suite passes against TeX Live 2026 on both native Linux ARM64 and x86_64.
- Fixed Windows Lua named-font lookup through drive-qualified paths in the embedded font tree.
- Retained diagnostics are decoded as UTF-8, including Japanese transcripts under legacy Windows console encodings.
- Linux Lua math text mappings, Unicode-math rendering, and CJK reference comparisons are repaired.
Verification
- Source CI: all six jobs passed, including native ARM64, Windows, macOS, C/Wasm, and the 2 GiB no-swap ARM64 build.
- Release workflow: all eight jobs passed, including native installers and extracted-archive checks.
- pdfTeX, XeLaTeX, and LuaLaTeX CLI builds passed in a native Debian 12 ARM64 container with glibc 2.36.
- All four public ARM64 downloads passed SHA-256, ELF architecture/ABI, package metadata, and matching executable checks. Checksums: SHA256SUMS-linux-aarch64.txt.
