webOS IPTV Player v1.13.0
✨ Features
- MPEG-DASH playback — play DASH streams natively on webOS and through dash.js in the desktop preview, with track metadata, stream details, DRM detection, live DVR safety, and subtitle support for WebVTT, IMSC, captions, and native formats.
- Number-key channel entry in the player — enter a channel number while watching and tune directly after a short delay. The shared on-screen digit display now works consistently from both the player and channel list.
- Broader Xtream compatibility — fall back to Player API live streams when playlist exports fail while preserving categories, stream IDs, direct sources, and output formats.
- Improved Xtream catch-up — support XC catch-up metadata and probe both documented and legacy timeshift endpoints for better provider compatibility.
🚀 Performance & UX
- Clearer playback failures — streams that never produce a playable source or first frame now show an error instead of remaining on a silent black screen.
- More reliable navigation — hidden and collapsed controls are excluded from spatial navigation, open overlays keep focus contained, long lists remember the last focused item, and pointer movement no longer causes dropdown option skips.
- Faster online subtitle results — each subtitle provider now has an independent eight-second search limit, preventing one unreachable provider from delaying all results.
- Returning from the player now focuses the currently playing channel, including channels selected by number.
- Settings actions remain accessible while scrolling, with improved focus layering at viewport edges.
- Refreshed the GitHub Pages presentation with responsive content, tables, code blocks, and GitHub-like typography.
🐛 Bug Fixes
- Fixed extensionless streams being incorrectly forced to
video/mp4, which could cause unsupported sources to fail silently. - Fixed icon-and-label spacing across the EPG, player controls, menus, channel editor, reminders, catalog details, and subtitle search on webOS 4.
- Fixed theme swatch sizing, settings hints, single-row grids, and other legacy layout differences caused by Chromium 53 CSS fallbacks.
- Fixed Settings changes not immediately republishing setup state to connected LAN setup clients.
🧰 Compatibility, Internal & Docs
- Added pixel-comparison coverage across 40 application screens to keep webOS 4 fallback layouts aligned with modern Chromium.
- Added an Xtream compatibility reference server and end-to-end coverage for known live and catch-up provider profiles.
- Expanded playback diagnostics with startup failure state, source MIME support, playlist completion, and number-entry routing.
- Added comprehensive MPEG-DASH parser, playback, track, subtitle, and browser coverage.
- Reworked shared MSE track control and WebVTT cue rendering for use by both HLS and DASH.
- Rewrote the bug report template to collect more actionable environment, source, and diagnostic details.
- Refreshed player, navigation, persistence, LAN service, audio-track, and subtitle implementation documentation.
