github leikoilja/ha-google-home v1.15.0

⚠️ Before you update

  • The integration now fetches your device list from Google about once an hour, and every 10th update while a device has no IP address. (#1079, #1120)
  • Entities of a device that Google no longer lists become unavailable, instead of showing Do Not Disturb off and alarm volume 0. Check automations that react to those values. (#1120)
  • google_home.delete_alarm now runs only on alarms sensors, and google_home.delete_timer only on timers sensors. Naming the other sensor fails with "Entity ... does not support action ..." and deletes nothing. A device target picks the right sensor. (#1110)

✨ Highlights

🗑️ Delete every alarm or timer at once with google_home.delete_all_alarms and google_home.delete_all_timers. If a speaker can't be reached, the action clears the others and then reports an error that names it. To let an automation carry on, add continue_on_error: true:

- action: google_home.delete_all_alarms
  target:
    entity_id: all
  continue_on_error: true

See Delete all alarms. (#650, #1078, #1111, #1119)

🔁 Reboot button for each device, under Configuration on its device page. (#1097, #1100)

📡 No more reloads for device changes. A speaker you add in the Google Home app gets its entities within about an hour, and one you remove there can then be deleted from Home Assistant. A device that was offline at setup, or when Google couldn't be reached, gets its entities when it comes back. See Add a device. (#122, #1079, #1083, #1118, #1120)

🎯 Actions that target a device, area or entity_id: all run once per device. Deleting, refreshing and rebooting no longer run twice or poll every device twice. (#1103, #1105, #1110, #1113, #1114, #1115, #1121)

🌍 10 new languages, for 27 in total. They're listed under Translations below.

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • A speaker that doesn't answer while the device list is fetched keeps its alarms, timers, Do Not Disturb and alarm volume, instead of briefly showing none, off and 0. (#1120)
  • When a device rejects its token, the other devices keep updating. (#1120)
  • Deleted alarms and timers disappear from the sensors as soon as the speaker confirms, including with skip_refresh: true. (#1107, #1109)
  • Do Not Disturb and alarm volume changes show as soon as the speaker answers. (#1085, #1104)
  • Enable debug logging now includes glocaltokens' logs, and turning it off turns them off without a restart. (#1099)

🔎 Known limits

  • After you delete an alarm or timer, a speaker can still answer with it by voice for a while. We saw this with Gemini for Home, once as a paused timer. Ask "Do I have any alarms set?" or "Do I have any timers set?" to make it check again, or reboot the speaker.
  • Removing a speaker in the Google Home app doesn't reset it. To set it up again, factory reset it first.

🈵 Translations

  • New: Czech, Finnish, Hungarian, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Romanian, Swedish, Thai and Traditional Chinese. (#1081, #1092, #1093)
  • Delete-all actions translated into every language, and delete_timer examples now show a timers sensor. (#1080, #1082)
  • Translation contributions no longer need to cover every language. See the contributor guide. (#1094)

📄 Documentation

  • Add devices on another network now says what the network needs for speakers on another VLAN, including TCP 8443 from Home Assistant. (#1122)
  • Links point to Settings > Tools, where Home Assistant moved Developer tools. (#1117)

🔧 Under the hood

  • Updated glocaltokens to 0.11.0: discovery skips link-local IPv6 addresses, and Google Wifi and Nest Wifi routers no longer log warnings on every device list fetch. (#1102)
  • Release tooling uses a GitHub App token, and dependency updates. (#1076, #1077, #1112)
