This release includes all the features from 3.9.0, 3.10.0 and 3.11.0 and we recommend going straight to 3.12.0, since 3.12.0 contains our best implementation of software license tracking so far and the versions in between were still lacking some features.
Here's what changed:
- Added the ability to add attachments to software.
- The field "Technical details" is now called "software information" on the software editing page.
- When editing a software license, some useful fields from the software product show up there as well, for example "software information".
- Files attached to a software product are also visible in its licenses' edit pages.
- Removed "Mac OS" from our definition of the "operating system" field for software licenses. Don't worry, this means Mac OS 1 - 9, not Mac OS X.
- When handing over a software license, its inventory number and serial number are displayed in the search results.
- Added a new text field "license information" for software licenses.
- The manufacturer field is now also available for software licenses and it behaves more usefully. You can search for existing manufacturers or create new ones on the fly.
- If activation type for a software license is "dongle", you are forced to enter a dongle ID.
- The search system now also finds software licenses by dongle ID, licence serial number or license inventory code.
- Made the inventory code field wider to accomodate long software serial numbers in full.
- When changing a software license to "concurrent", "site license" or "multi-site", you can now optionally enter a total license count and do some simple calculations for remaining licenses. Enter one number and one note per line (for example the room in which you've installed that software) and the "total licenses" counter will count down automatically. This has nothing to do with availability, it's only to have a leightweight tracking mechanism for non-personal, multi-user licenses.
- Software licenses, when shown in a list, show their license count, license type and operating system instead of room, shelf and building.
- The save button on items now allows "save", "save and copy" and "save and close" and then redirects you to the proper list instead of to an unfiltered list of inventory.
- Software licenses can now be copied in their edit dialog.
- Added "iOS" as operating system in the software license dialogs.
Bugfixes:
- It is now possible to add a model to an order even if all its items are not borrowable. Users have requested that even non-borrowable items can be handed over, but the case that all items were non-borrowable has not been handled until now.
- Fixed an issue where it was impossible to retire an item even though it was not in an open contract.
- Any newlines added to a contract note will now show up on a printed contract.
- Fixed the LDAP login controller: It was impossible for LDAP users to log in under certain conditions.
