Bloodborne VR 0.1.0-alpha13 (early alpha)
Instant items, a laser-aimed gun, shorter staggers and steadier hands.
Unofficial VR port of YOUR OWN Bloodborne 1.09 (CUSA03173) dump on Windows (Vulkan + OpenXR). No game files are included. You need an OpenXR headset runtime and a legally obtained, decrypted dump.
EARLY ALPHA. Single-player is the supported mode; co-op is experimental. Expect bugs and comfort issues.
New in alpha13
- Instant items (single player): vials, throwables and tools work straight from your hand with no use animation.
- Bring a vial to your mouth: it heals at once.
- Throw by swinging your arm and letting go: the item flies the way and as fast as your hand moved, and the game's fire or impact lands where it hits. This covers the Molotov, Rope Molotov, Oil Urn, knives, pebble, Numbing Mist, Pungent Blood Cocktail, coins, the Tonitrus, the gloves, Blacksky Eye and Accursed Brew (Quicksilver is paid as usual).
- A short cooldown keeps the original pace. The multiplayer bells keep their animation.
- Change it in the launcher: Combat > Items (instant items on/off; "swing and let go" or "hold the grip to aim").
- Real item models in your hand: the game's own vial, molotov, knife, bell and tool models, textured and at their real size. They are built from your own game files the first time you start (a few extra minutes, once; also once when you update).
- Gun: hold the left trigger to aim with a red laser, release to shoot. Shots and laser are turned 10° to the right by default (Combat > "Gun aim turn"). The shot animation is faster (Combat > "Gun shot animation speed").
- Staggers last half as long (the game's hit reactions play 2x).
- Hands: much less shaking during rolls and when moving your head; no rings around the hand when you hold an item (the hint text stays); the wrists no longer show at the end of the hands.
- Launcher defaults: OpenXR runtime = SteamVR when it is installed (a Pimax setup keeps Pimax: SteamVR doubles images there). Display size = the game's native 1080p frame. Both can be changed in the launcher.
Fixed
- Picking an item on the quick wheel that was not in a quick slot could fail ("the item is no longer there").
- Fire Paper could be refused when used from the hand.
Known issues
- Virtual Desktop: if you see double vision with Virtual Desktop's own runtime (VDXR), use SteamVR (the new default).
- A brief 2D screen can show after loading.
- Full stereo with Super High is GPU-heavy. Pick a lower preset if you drop frames.
- Internet co-op is not fully tested; instant items are off online.
- The exe and Setup.exe are not code-signed: Windows SmartScreen warns, click "More info", then "Run anyway".
