What's New
Soulseek setup; now guided and verifiable
Setting up Soulseek previously required knowing the right binary path, having a Soulseek account, and hoping the credentials were correct; with no feedback until an actual download failed. v4.8.0 replaces that with a proper onboarding flow directly in Settings.
New in Settings → General → Soulseek:
- Info box: explains what Soulseek is, how FLACidal uses
sldlin the background, and that Nicotine+ users can reuse their existing account credentials without creating a new one - sldl status indicator: shows whether the binary is installed and its version (
✓ sldl 2.6.x installed/✗ not found) - Login button: tests your credentials live against the Soulseek network before saving. Returns
✓ Connected successfullyor a specific error. No more silent failures - Save to confirm hint; appears on successful login so the flow is unambiguous
Settings layout
The General tab was previously unbalanced; Downloads & Appearance (6 items) sat alone in the left column while Sources & Quality + Soulseek (14+ items) stacked in the right column. Soulseek has been moved to the left column, bringing both columns to roughly equal height.
Bug fixes
- Toggle not rendering in Soulseek section (wrong CSS class
slider→toggle-slider) - Long setting descriptions were crushing input field width (missing
flex: 1; min-width: 0on.setting-info) - Soulseek source now re-registers / unregisters live on Save without requiring a restart
