lifeGLANCE in your language
A language picker now lives in settings and right on the welcome screen, with each language listed under its own name. Even if the app guessed wrong on first launch, you can fix it without reading a language you don't know.
Portuguese now ships in two editions: Português (Brasil) and Português (Portugal). If you were already using lifeGLANCE in Portuguese, nothing changes: the app keeps the Brazilian text you've always had, and European Portuguese is one tap away. Chinese got sturdier too. Devices reporting bare zh, zh-MO, or a Traditional-script tag no longer fall back to English.
The translations now reach beyond the app itself. Home-screen widgets, the Quick Settings tile and launcher shortcuts on Android, and widgets, the share sheet and Siri phrases on iOS all speak the same eight languages, with dates in each language's own format. An honest note: the app's existing translations include native-speaker work (Chinese and French in particular), but the strings new in this release, the European Portuguese edition and the widget and shortcut text in every language, are machine-assisted and mechanically verified rather than native-reviewed. Corrections are very welcome.
iOS
- Lock Screen widgets, alongside the existing home-screen set. The app now targets iOS 16.
- "Add milestone" works from Siri and the Shortcuts app.
- Your milestones are searchable from the system's Spotlight search; tapping a result opens the app panned to that milestone.
Android
- Attaching a photo now opens the system Photo Picker, and audio/video a document picker. Neither needs a storage permission prompt.
Sync and sharing
- Sync credentials moved out of plain storage into Android's encrypted Keystore and iOS's Keychain.
- Sharing several things into lifeGLANCE now imports the whole queue at once instead of one item per app-switch.
Under the hood
Each language now loads as its own small chunk, cutting the main bundle by about a fifth, and a suite of new guardrail tests keeps the locales honest: every language reachable, keys and placeholders in step with English, and each Portuguese edition held to its own standard. Android and iOS builds are now compile-checked in CI on every change.
